Getting off our past and our future is the basis of mindfulness meditation. We all focus most of our attention on the past that has happened and the future that would unfold. We do not have any control over both the periods, but that does not stop us from concentrating on the reality, the present. It does not only help to focus on the immediate reality, but can help you concentrate on whatever you want. It is the present moment that is real and happening and our actions taken now would determine the future and how it would unfold. As soon as your mind is wavering you can always bring it back to whatever you want to focus on. It is one of the most unique forms of meditation whose origins can be traced back 2500 years to India and Sri Lanka. Initially you would find it a tough job getting the mind together and holding it sort of closer to the center. Our thoughts have an ever expanding circumference which we can't control unless we practice mindfulness meditation techniques. Imagine spilling mustard seeds from a can. Can you put them all back in? Your thoughts resemble a similar situation as you can't reach for the circumference. By this form of meditation, you get all the mustard seeds read thoughts, back into the can or the mind. The sooner you achieve this; you are at the center of it all. No past or future, but the present. If your thoughts are preoccupied by the past and the future, mindfulness meditation is an ideal way to rewind and play the tune you want. You can focus on whatever you want to. This form of meditation is very easy to learn and practice and would leave you a better person with optimum mental and physical qualities. Your mind will dictate whatever you do and you would refrain from being a slave to your senses. Meditation is for the present to keep you firmly embedded in the present reality. The moment is NOW and you would want to remain in here as long as possible. Don't worry if your mind keeps wandering. Every time it does, force it back to the body where it belongs and where! mindful ness would be a reality. This process of bringing back the mind every time it drifts away is an exercise and practice that would gradually make you perfect. With meditation, you can just ask your mind to behave and get back, and it would. The method of this type of meditation should not be taken at a great pace, but done slowly. In slow motion, you can stretch your body, move your hands, practice your hobby and do whatever you do all day. But the difference is that with this technique, you would be doing it with mindfulness. Having fun all through is an extra bonus even when you go to sleep and being all along in mindfulness meditation mode can change your life. Symptoms of anxiety attacks can be prevented. Contraceptive Use by Young Adults May Increase with Knowledge

Young people who don't understand contraception are less likely to use it, results from a new survey suggest.

Participants who scored the lowest on a 23-question test of contraception knowledge were the most likely to say they would probably have unprotected sex in the near future, the Guttmacher Institute reports.

For example, more than 40 percent of women who answered 10 or fewer of the true-false questions correctly said they were likely to have unprotected sex in the next three months, compared with about 10 percent of women who answered at least 19 questions correctly.

The study showed an association, not a cause-and-effect link between knowledge and having protected sex, and the institute said participants would need to be followed over time to confirm the findings.

Still, "this study provides valuable evidence that improving young adults' contraceptive knowledge and dispelling common misconceptions can help change their behavior for the better," study researcher Jennifer Frost said in a statement.

Researchers for the nonprofit institute, a former branch of Planned Parenthood that conducts research on sexual and reproductive health, conducted a telephone survey of a nationally representative sample of 1,800 U.S. adults between the ages of 18 and 29. Women from 18 through 29 have the highest rate of unintended pregnancies, the researchers explained.

Participants' knowledge of contraception was measured by their answers to 23 true-or-false questions such as, "In order to get the birth control pill, a woman must have a pelvic exam" (false), and, "A woman can use an IUD [intrauterine device] even if she has never had a child" (true). The researchers also asked questions about participants' attitudes towards contraception and social norms.

"Many young adults — men in particular — displayed serious gaps in objective knowledge about the major contraceptive methods," the researchers wrote.

The results also showed that while 69 percent of women and 45 percent of men said they were highly committed to avoiding pregnancy, about 40 percent of all participants said using birth control does not affect the chances of pregnancy.

Twenty-five percent said it's a hassle to use condoms every time one has sex.

Women with greater knowledge of contraception, and those who said their friends consider using birth control important, were more likely to use hormonal or long-acting methods of birth control, the study said.

The researchers said their study is the first to look at links between use of contraception among young adults and a wide range of factors, including contraceptive knowledge, attitudes and social norms. Most previous studies focused on teens or did not include data on attitudes and perceptions, the researchers said.

The study was published online Tuesday (May 8) in the journal Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health.

Article by Flin Martyn

Nagarjuna Sagar, situated one hundred and fifty kilometers from Hyderabad in the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh is significant for its rich history and natural beauty. It is one of the most visited and attractive tourist spots in Andhra. In the ancient times the town was known as Vijayapuri. It got its current name from the ancient Buddhist monk Nagarjuna. The monk was highly revered and governed his Buddhist "sangha" for nearly sixty years at the turn of the 2nd century AD. Nagarjuna is one of the prominent Buddhist centers of south India. Archaeological excavations have revealed Nagarjuna to be a center of Buddhist teachings and propagations in the ancient times. Today tourists visit the ancient monasteries and also enjoy the natural beauty of Nagarjuna.

The pride of Nagarjuna is the Nagarjuna dam which is the tallest masonry dam in the world. It was completed in 1966 and stands at a staggering one hundred and twenty four meters of height and is a kilometer long with twenty six crest gates. The lake it is built on boats of being the third largest manmade lake of the world. A few kilometers away there is a high point called the Viewpoint which offers a breath taking and majestic panoramic view of the beautiful landscape.

In the midst of the manmade lake is the Nagarjuna Kond Island which houses a unique island museum. The museum displays excavated and reconstructed relics of the remains of the Buddhist civilization dating back to 3rd century AD. The museum is constructed in the shape of a Buddhist Vihara. It contains rare relics related to the Buddhist culture and history. Prized relics include a tooth and an ear-ring believed to have belonged to Buddha himself. The main stupa called "Mahachaitya" is believed to contain the relics of Buddha. The main attraction is a partly ruined monolithic statue of Buddha. Anupu which is a few kilometer away from the dam was recreated to display some more Buddhist relics found during excavation. On display are a Buddhist viraha and an acoustically ! sound am phitheatre.

Nature lovers can visit the Ethipothala mountain stream cascading down the hills from a height of twenty one meters. The waterfall is a combination three streams, Chandravanka Vagu, Nakkala vagu and Tummala vagu. The majestic waterfall forms a beautiful lagoon. The dazzling lagoon is a breeding center for crocodiles. The stream flows on to join the River Krishna. Two famous temples are located near the waterfalls. The caves found near the falls are believed to lead to Srisailam.

Nagarjuna Sagar is well connected by roads, rail and air and its proximity to Hyderabad makes it an easily accessible place.

Quotes from Einstein and the Buddha - Coldplay The Scientist 720p HD

www.thebuddhasface.co.uk A short video essay to Coldplay's The Scientist with a number of quotes from the world's greatest ever scientist Albert Einstein. It is said that he thought the religion of the future would be a cosmic religion transcending the concept of a personal God and avoiding dogma and theology. He went on to say that such a religion should cover both the natural and the spiritual worlds and should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. Finally he remarked "If there is any religion that could cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism." Sleeping in Parents' Bed May Reduce Kids' Obesity Risk

Posted: 09 May 2012 12:00 PM PDT

Parents who let their young children climb into bed with them during the night may decrease their child's risk of obesity, a new study from Denmark suggests.

In the study, children who never entered their parents' bed during the night were three times more likely to be overweight compared with children who got into their parents' bed every night.

The findings are contrary to what might have been expected: obesity is associated with poor sleep quality, and kids who climb into bed with mom and dad are clearly waking up during the night, the researchers said.

However, parents who let their kids enter their beds at night may be giving their children a greater sense of emotional support, which may protect against obesity, the researchers said. In contrast, some children who are not allowed to enter their parents' bed at night may feel rejected, and such negative feelings may increase the risk of obesity, they said.

Dr. Nanna Olsen, of the Institute of Preventive Medicine at Copenhagen University Hospitals, and colleagues analyzed information from 645 children ages 2 to 6 who were predisposed to obesity because they had a high birth weight, their mothers were overweight before pregnancy or their families had a low income.

For about 500 of the children, information was available on whether the child entered the parents' bed at night, and if so, how often. In addition, researchers had information on the children's body mass index (BMI).

The study was presented today (May 9) at the European Congress on Obesity in Lyon, France.

Pass it on:  Young children who enter their parents' bed at night may have a lower risk of being overweight.

The Stress Buster Home Beauty Day

Posted: 09 May 2012 10:00 AM PDT

Article by Thomas B. Chuong

Not many people can say that they are not exposed to some level of stress during their daily routine. Perhaps some more than others but it does not matter it has an effect on everyone.

It is important as part of a healthy lifestyle to find ways to combat stress to reduce the damage that it can do. A great way for a woman to be able to get away from it all is to have a stress buster home beauty day.

Many will say that they have tried to do this in the past and it does not seem to work. That is possibly because the right plans were not made on how to go about it. First, you do not want any distractions so send hubby and the kids out for the day. Turn your cell phone off and start early enough in the day to get set up for all the wonderful things that you are about to experience.

Probably the first hour is not going to seem that enjoyable to you because you need to work a bit to gather up your supplies for your stress buster home beauty day. Some of the things that you are going to want to accomplish during this day are to pamper yourself so that means a facial, manicure and a pedicure. Most often, the budget will not allow you to go out and have these professionally done so you are probably going to have to settle for doing it yourself. If done properly and with the right mindset they can be just as enjoyable.

So ideally let us start with the facial making sure that you have all your favorite products that you want to use and everything is there for you. If you are going to use a mask then take some time to sit down and listen to some music while your mask is doing its job. This is just the beginning of your stress reduction but you are not going to get the major benefit of it yet. As the day, progresses you going to find your tension is becoming less and less and you are starting to relax more.

The next thing you want to do is your pedicure and you want to do it before your manicure because you do not want to ruin the polish that you are going to apply to your fingern! ails. Ma ke sure that you use something in your foot soak that is soothing to give you a relaxed feeling. Most often, anything that contains peppermint will give this effect. Once again, make sure that you have some pleasant music you can listen to when you are soaking. You could even read a book at this time if you desire to do so. The important part about a pedicure is that you do not become bored and you get the full enjoyment and benefits of it.

When you do your manicure try to give yourself a hot paraffin treatment or hot oil hand treatment as well. This will go a long way relaxing you and the added benefits of what it will do for your skin is not something you want to miss.

You can continue on your day doing many other things to pamper yourself. For example, you might want to give your hair an oil treatment or you may want to give yourself a new coloring. Do not forget to take some time out to get yourself a nice long nap with no disturbances.

Meditate and Reduce Stress Wherever You Are

Posted: 09 May 2012 09:00 AM PDT

Article by Charlotte Winslow

We all know that stress can come over you when you least expect it. Learning to meditate and reduce stress wherever you are is the key.

There have been times I have experienced an anxiety attack days after the stressful event occurred in my life. If you are prepared and know how to meditate, you can easily wipe away those nasty feelings and find inner peace anytime, anywhere.

People have been practicing this ancient art for thousands of years. It was initially meant to help people find a deeper, more intense understanding of all things sacred and mystical in life.

Today, meditation is used as a relaxation and stress-reduction technique. Anyone can learn. It's easy, inexpensive and doesn't require the purchase of any fancy gym equipment. You can meditate anywhere, even if you are out walking, taking the bus to work, waiting in the dentist's office: anywhere you need to relax.

When you meditate you will experience a deep state of relaxation and have a tranquil mind. During, you will focus your attention and remove mixed-up thoughts that may be causing your stress.

This process will provide you with an enlightened feeling and an emotionally calm sense of being. This relaxed state doesn't end after you're through meditating. It continues throughout your day, enabling you to tackle your workload with ease.

Meditation has also been known, in certain instances, to have helped improve health conditions, such as:

AllergiesAnxietyBreathing difficultiesEating DisordersLack of energyHigh blood pressureInsomniaAnd many more...

Please note meditation is not a replacement for traditional treatment for these and other serious medical conditions. It can, however, be used in conjunction with them for additional relief. It can't possibly hurt to do something that makes you feel so relaxed and at ease.

The more you meditate, the better you will become. As my mother always said, "practice makes perfect", so give it a try. Meditate for a few moments, or longer if so de! sired. T ry a few of these meditation techniques to get started:

- Practice deep breathing exercises- Repeat a mantra to yourself- Try walking meditation and lose yourself in your repetitive steps- Say a prayer- Read something inspirational and reflect upon its meaning- Weave feelings of love and gratitude within your thoughts About the Author

Charlotte Winslow suggests finding a technique that best suits your taste and learn to meditate and reduce stress wherever you are. Don't give up too soon. At http://stressreliefforwomen.info you, too, can learn how to find peace and tranquility.

How To Reduce Stress In The Real World

Posted: 09 May 2012 08:00 AM PDT

Article by Susan Living

Mental health is huge in the media at the moment. Campaigns abound to raise our awareness and famous people speak often about stress, depression and anxiety and the devastating effects they've had on their personal, work and family life. In fact, one recent article reported that almost 50% of Australians are have or have had some form of mental illness. http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,24543392-5006301,00.html

Why, as the experts agree, are 75% of us stressed out? Why are our lives so busy and what are we getting out of it? How can we live with this build up of pressure inside us without exploding? How do we find the balance between achieving our goals and relaxing into the present moment? Very big questions.

Obviously, mental health doesn't just happen. We need to work on it. Daily. This may sound like a big ask but the alternative is rather unpleasant.

As more of us become aware of our high stress level and how it can negatively impact our health and relationships, more of us look for answers. One option is to turn to the experts, say we're unhappy and be prescribed powerful mind-altering medication that may or may not address the symptoms and ignores the cause. We may be given a diagnosis and be told we have "social anxiety disorder" or "post-natal depression". We may see a therapist long-term who listens, we may speak about our childhood and analyse our feelings and thoughts. The medical model is designed to focus minutely on what is wrong - a specific neurotransmitter, a particular behaviour, a diagnosis or a series of events that occurred when we were young. A journey down this easily accessible path has certainly saved many lives but has also enabled many to remain stuck with no immediate relief from their negative feelings.

Another option we may be attracted to is the path of healing, of spirituality, of preventative medicine, crystals, channeled entities, re-birthing and reincarnation. Veganism, magic, mantras and seventh dimensions require us ! to be op en with a child-like curiosity about the world and the way energy works. This path focuses on what's right - on the perfection of what is happening inside the individual. The only problem is, rainbows and dolphins aren't taken too seriously by mainstream thought in mental health and medicine.

So, what's another option? Perhaps ultimately the only one that counts. The one that each individual chooses for himself or herself regardless of gender, background, culture, religion, education and life experience. A path that isn't exclusive, that demands no bias or preconceived ideas or knowledge of anything in particular. A path that welcomes 55 year old CEOs who drive BMWs, the dread locked, vegetarian hippie from Byron and the person just living their life, doing what they do; sleeping, eating, drinking, working, laughing, crying, playing and dying.

All that this path requires is the development of a personal philosophy that can be practiced amidst the chaos of our daily lives. A philosophy that fits our unique view of the world and gives us something to hold on to when we need it most; at times when we are really stressed, have an intensely worried mind or are feeling blue and unable to connect with anyone or anything around us.

A philosophy I've carefully cultivated is "Anything that ever happens to me is for the best." This belief has seen me through chronic anxiety, eating disorders, relationship breakdowns, addiction, debt, financial failure and more. With consistent practice and time, I've developed a positive view of life, a way to feel better about where I am right now, to embrace change and to accept conflict and loss.

Your own personal philosophy exists outside the medical model, religion and self-development practice. It exists solely in you and you take it with you wherever you go and whatever you are doing. There's so much more, but this is where we begin with stress reduction for the real world. What is your personal philosophy? How has is it served you? Is it time to ! create a new one?

Learning Meditation – Why You Need a Guru

Posted: 09 May 2012 07:00 AM PDT

Article by Dr. Robert Puff

Recent scientific research has underscored the fact that people who practice meditation enjoy greater professional success and are also able to cope better with the challenges in their personal lives. Practicing meditation helps people to cultivate better mental focus and gain a sense of control.

If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, then you'll likely benefit by practicing meditation:

* Do you often over-react to stressful situations?

* Are you apprehensive of change?

* Are you prone to impromptu emotional outbursts?

* Do you feel a lack of direction?

* Do you suffer from lack of sleep due to an overactive mind?

Meditation facilitates greater emotional self-control, which helps you to develop a sense of perspective when confronted with a crisis, making the problem seem more manageable. Taking the time to meditate daily can bring back a sense of "I can handle this," which can make all the difference. Additionally, meditation promotes aroused senses, letting you enjoy the small things in life, such as the color of the morning sky. It helps you to become more observant, enabling you to respond appropriately to situations rather than to overreact.

Meditation helps you to focus more easily. It brings deep-rooted negative and counter-productive thoughts to the surface and quells them, resulting in a greater peace of mind. When meditation is practiced regularly, its mental benefits take root and become permanent. You learn to keep your emotions in check. The sense of control that meditation begets contributes to your ability to deal with the pressures of daily life appropriately and effectively.

Meditation helps professionals juggle their work and personal lives efficiently, enabling them to give their best efforts to both. Recent scientific research has underscored the fact that people who practice meditation enjoy greater professional success and are also able to cope better with the challenges in their personal lives. Meditation helps cl! ean up m ental junk, producing a feeling of rejuvenation. It endows its practitioners with clarity of thought and with control over inner desires.

However, meditation is not a journey you should embark upon on your own. You need a guru to guide you through the various meditation techniques. A guru teaches you the nuances of meditation, helps you to understand the different meditation techniques used across the world, and assists you to find what works best for you. When practicing under the tutelage of a guru meditation becomes easy to learn.

A guru helps you to learn about all of the different aspects of meditation. He teaches you to navigate through the thought zone, successfully pausing all of the mind's activities. Practitioners slowly move from body consciousness to mind consciousness, from an active thinking zone to a thought-free zone, eventually reaching a meditative state that transcends the body and mind.

A knowledgeable guru will introduce you to a slew of meditation techniques such as breathing exercises, guided meditation, and more. Working with a meditation guru, participants will learn specialized uses of meditation that are tailored to professionals who split their time between work and home. These techniques help professionals to deal with the negative effects of stress, counteract the constant intrusion of technology, and to keep cool in adverse circumstances. They help one to develop mental stamina and the ability to sustain oneself. You will learn to perform mini-meditation exercises while in the shower, at the gym, or during a coffee break, helping you to release the toxicity within, and to be the master of your mind and spirit.

The user of the psychophysical organism

Posted: 09 May 2012 07:00 AM PDT

According to the Buddha the self or atman is not any of the five constituents (paรฑca-skandha) making up the psychophysical organism consisting of form, feeling, perception, volitional formations, and sensory consciousness.  This doesn't mean there is no self; rather it means that self is not a particular psychophysical constituent.  To understand the difference between self and the psychophysical organism is, according to the Buddha, discriminative wisdom or prajรฑรข.

So, what does this make the self as regards the psychophysical constituents?  The self appears to be a 'user' of the constituents while not being any one of them.  In other words, the self makes use of the psychophysical organism for various reasons.  This use, however, makes the self vulnerable to becoming mesmerized by the organism such that the self can no longer distinguish itself from that which it uses. So subtle are the four psychophysical constituents after form or rupa that the odds of distinguishing the user from what it uses is almost impossible.  Nevertheless, it is doable.

While this sounds reminiscent of the Cartesian duality of soul and matter, it is not.  Buddhism recognizes no such duality.  What we see as extended matter is only a configuration of spirit in which spirit has become antithetical to itself in much the same way a whirlpool seems different from the water surrounding it which is not in circulation.

By blindly using our psychophysical organism without giving thought or attention to the user or atman, even imagining it to be something temporal, we only increase the binding influence (รขsrava) of the psychophysical organism.  As a result of this influence, to use a line from Wordsworth, "The world is too much with us; late and soon."  Sooner than later, the user is all but ignored.  What takes its place is the asmimรขna, a constructed self from the psychophysical constituents.  With the asmimรขna in place the is no chance of distinguishing the real user from the constructed self of constituents.

Article by Suzanne Eltink

There have never been more ways for people to relax and enjoy their free time. The options go from relaxation meditation and chakra meditation to yoga classes. However, people are not familiar with these techniques and methods that are meant to help them relax and there are many different reasons for this. There are people who don't have the time, there are those who don't consider meditation to be helpful and there are people who would like to meditate, but don't have enough information about how it is done. All of this is the result of the fact that meditation is not as widespread as it should be, in spite of the fact that there are many people who meditate on a regular basis.Meditation is usually associated with an ascetic and spiritual lifestyle. How Exercise Can Help You Reduce Stress

Posted: 09 May 2012 04:00 AM PDT

Article by Patricia Harper Stewart

If you are stressed out, you are looking for solutions. While you can spend much time reading books and articles on stress reduction, what you want are quick results. There are many different approaches and some of them should help you in one way or another. For some of us, we may find something specific that helps us to drop our stress levels rather quickly but for somebody else, this same technique may not work so well.

However, one thing that seems to work for many is exercise. There are so many different ways that we can exercise in order to feel this stress relief, but it really boils down to simply making sure that you are exercising regularly. The reason why this is so successful is because during the time that you are exercising, you will have the opportunity to sort out things in your mind that may have been jumbled for quite some time. Along with that, your body will release chemicals, known as endorphins that will naturally make you feel better and improve your mental outlook. This has sometimes been called runner's high, but really any kind of aerobic exercise will produce the same effect.

Some of us may not have the opportunity to exercise for long periods of time on a daily basis. Fortunately, it is not always necessary for you to do so in order to see relief in some of the stress that you are feeling.

As a matter of fact, simply getting 10 minutes of exercise, three times a day can go a long way in helping you to achieve a more peaceful mental attitude. This should help you feel less overwhelmed as you may think to yourself, how can I schedule in 30 minutes of exercise in my already overscheduled life?! Although you may not get the endorphin rush that you would whenever you push your body for longer periods of time, it will still make a difference that you will be able to recognize.

If you are able to get into the gym or to exercise at home on a consistent basis, you may actually find that you become addicted to it after a period of time. The reason why thi! s is the case is because the endorphins that are released help us to feel better instantly and this "high", can go a long way and providing an addiction. The good thing is, this is an addiction that is good for us and will help us to be able to cope with the daily stresses we may face in life.

Article by Leo Vegner

Having a super mind power is not only defined by how much a person remembers a person but what exactly a person has in his/her head. For example, the power of the mind of Oprah Winfrey gives her cunningness which makes it easy for her to build a connection in the masses and in individuals. Having a powerful mind can also be seen in the famous Hollywood actors and actresses like Robert DeNiro, Meryl Streep, and Al Pacino who easily transform and mold themselves into the personalities of the characters they are portraying. Thus, the power of the mind refers to the ability of people to use their creative sides, alter their egos, and adapt easily to other moods and different people. The idea of having special mind powers has been appealing to us ever since because of all the superheroes and fantasy characters that we've been exposed to. If you will just look back and think, you will notice that it is not the physical powers that makes us interested before but the extraordinary power of the mind of our favorite characters.

At present, the wide popularity of fictional shows that feature telepaths, aliens, and scientific fiction confirm that people are still enthralled with high intelligence, and the power of the mind. How many people do you know likes vampires, interested in crystal balls, fortune telling and black magic? Humans are naturally peaked by whatever makes us feel our minds have super mind powers that can enable us to move mountains and conquer galaxies. Fortunately because of this natural desire, we are now enjoying the many advantages of the different technologies and advancements that make our lives easier and more enjoyable. Have you ever imagined yourself living without television or internet? All of these were born due to the human's power of the mind. Maybe in the next few decades we will also be able to live in new planets or discover a time-traveling machine. Who knows? As they say, everything is possible now.

Each person probably wants to have some secret techniques tha! t can he lp them enhance or give them some super mind powers. Though it can sometimes be a disadvantage when done in obsessive levels, for some people these are highly beneficial because honing the power of the mind can help them conquer and do new things. Mind power is even sometimes considered as the drive of people in their religious devotions. Seeing people in television who claim that they were able to regain their vision or ability to walk is not so normal nowadays. All of these are because of the power of the mind. Hindus, for example willingly underwent some painful trials and deprivation will just their mental powers to help them through the quest. These said powers of the mind are what bless them with the ability to make miracles. Individuals who can do hypnosis and fortunetelling are products of our confidence in our own minds. People believe and this gives them the urge to make things happen.

Does Yoga Help in Breast Enlargement?

Posted: 09 May 2012 12:00 AM PDT

Article by Cody Holpp

Yoga is a combination of mental, physical and spiritual energies. The act in general involves a lot of breathing exercises, body movements, postures and an opportunity to get rejuvenated via a blending of your soul and spiritual wellbeing.

Yoga has many health benefits which accommodate a large spectrum of physical and mental aspects. Some common aspects in which yoga plays an important role are as follows:

- Stress relief- Psychological health, - Blood pressure regulations- Yoga is known for being an anti-aging therapy- In addition, the latest studies have concluded that yoga for breast enlargement is possible to a small extent.

Yoga for Breast Enlargement

Breast enhancement is one of the most popular surgeries, which charge a bomb (cost of the procedure). As compared to these surgical procedures, there are certain other controversial procedures, techniques and exercises.

All in all, one mode of exercise which has shown better results in terms of breast reduction and enhancement as well is yoga. Yoga creates slow results, but along with the results come other bonuses which conventional exercise forms instill.

Yoga is a combination of various asanas (postures), and prominent asanas which affect breast enhancement/reduction processes are as follows:

Vrikshasana (Tree posture)

- Start breathing in & out; raise your arms above the head while join your hands.- Step on your toes; place your weight on your left leg, while you keep on breathing normally.- Use your right hand to lift your left foot and then place the sole on your right thigh (inner side). - Then, you need to stretch your hands as far as possible- Look straight at something in front of you.- Now, breathe out as you connect your hands.- Lastly, you need to step on the floor in a normal position after maintaining this posture for about 2 minutes.

Suryanamaskara

- You need to stand up in a relaxed posture, as you hold your feet apart (with your arms along the sides).- Stretc! h your a rms towards the back of your head.- While you breathe in, steadily bend your waist backwards as you separate your arms.- Now, breathe out as you steadily bend your waist forward, till your fingers touch your toes.

Ardha Matsyendrasana

- This posture requires you to sit on the floor, folding your right leg near the knee. - You need to place the heel on the side of your leg (left) in a position where your ankle reaches your left thigh.- Putting your palms over the floor, you need to twist your waist to the right. Now, putting your left hand on your right foot, you need to turn your head along with the right shoulder towards the right. - To finish, repeat the same steps over the other side

You could also see pictures or videos of these asanas to understand everything about yoga for breast enlargement procedures.

Lastly, one thing to be remembered while practicing yoga (even yoga for breast enlargement) is that incorrect exercises often backfire big time, leading to a condition of deterioration. Hence, it is advised that people who are interested in these exercises should perform under proper supervision, at least in the initial stages.

If you are thinking of getting breast augmentation done, you should also try some natural exercises to enlarge breast. Taking medication for breast enlargement should be your last resort.

Reprogram Your Mind - Your Gateway To Success

Posted: 08 May 2012 11:00 PM PDT

Article by Christian Hall

Every human is heading towards a goal. This goal is defined by their subconscious mind. Unfortunately, not everybody is directing their subconscious, consciously towards these goals. Even worse, these goals may have been put in your subconscious by someone or something else. You have been programmed to strive towards something, and without being sure exactly why, you feel you should attain those goals. You need to reprogram your mind.

The human mind is no different from a computer in that it can be programmed and reprogrammed, and it's response at any given time is a function of the prior programming performed. Like computer experts usually say, "Garbage In, Garbage Out", which simply means that if you input garbage into a computer, it outputs garbage back to you. Your mind is the same way. What you feed into your mind is exactly what your mind is going to project back out.

Our subconscious mind is affected by experiences we've had, or by what people have been saying to us that defines how we interact with our environment. For example, a brilliant child who was brought up in an environment where he had no time to study and thus hardly had passing grades may be told over and over that he's stupid. As a result, his mind will be programmed to believing this even though it is a lie.

Without understanding the source of that negative belief which was spoken into his subconscious mind by someone else, and without reprogramming his mind to replace that negative self belief with a truer, more positive belief, he will never achieve the potential that he was created to achieve. If you can relate to this, maybe even about your appearance or height, then you must reprogram your mind.

Your mind may have been programmed subconsciously for you, but it's time you take up the challenge and do something about it. Do you want to go through life living out someone else's ignorant statements about you? You might be subconsciously striving to attain goals that the other person might not even ha! ve reali zed they set for you. Sometimes it can be intentional and cruel, but often the other person does not understand the intricacies of the subconscious mind and therefore does not realize the damage they are doing. But to reprogram your mind, you have to consciously decide what you are aspiring for, and then simply program your subconscious to aspire for that goal.

There are lots of ways to consciously reprogram your mind, some involve mind power techniques. The easiest way is to decide on new goals you strive for, or to think of yourself in a new and positive way, then repeatedly and consciously keep thinking of yourself in that way. This will plant the new image of yourself in your memory, which is the privy of the subconscious. When the subconscious accesses your memory, it now sees you as the new image and then begins to transform you into that image almost effortlessly. If you chase goals that are not really yours to begin with, you will be struggling and may end up exasperated at your lack of success and satisfaction.

1 in 6 Cancers Worldwide Caused by Infections

Posted: 08 May 2012 11:00 PM PDT

One in six cancer cases worldwide is caused by an infection, according to estimates from a new study.

Of the 12.7 million cases of cancer that occurred in 2008, about 2 million, or 16 percent, were caused by an infectious agent such as human papillomaviruses (HPV), hepatitis B virus, and Epstein-Barr virus, the study found.

Most cases of infection-related cancer are preventable, the researchers say. For instance, available vaccines protect against major strains of HPV, which causes cervical cancer, and against hepatitis B, which can cause liver cancer.

The majority of infection-related cancer cases occur in less developed regions of the world, the study found.

Cancer is typically considered a noncommunicable disease (something you cannot "catch"), but "a sizable proportion of its causation is infectious," the researchers write in the May issue of the journal The Lancet. Approaches to preventing and controlling cancer that treat it only as a noncommunicable disease will not be sufficient, the researchers said.

The researchers, from the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France, used data on the incidence of 27 cancers in 184 countries.

The fraction of infection-related cancers varied widely around the world, from 3.3 percent in Australia and New Zealand and 4 percent in North America, to 32.7 percent in sub-Saharan Africa. About 23 percent of cancers in developing countries are caused by infectious agents, compared with 7.4 percent in developed countries.

Helicobacter pylori bacteria (which infect the gut), hepatitis B and C viruses and human papillomaviruses were responsible for 1.9 million cancer cases.

About half of all cases of infection-related cancer in women were cases of cervical cancer.

The findings show "the potential for preventive and therapeutic programs in less developed countries to significantly reduce the global burden of cancer and the vast disparities across regions and countries," Dr. Goodarz Danaei, of the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, wrote in an editorial accompanying the study.

"Since effective and relatively low-cost vaccines for HPV and [hepatitis B] are available, increasing coverage should be a priority for health systems in high-burden countries," Danaei said.

Pass it on:  Two million cases of cancer worldwide are caused by largely preventable infections.

Brain Wave Entrainment: Say Good Bye to Stress

Posted: 08 May 2012 10:00 PM PDT

Article by Goodpal

Stress is unfortunately more common than it should be. No one likes it but no one can avoid it either. In excessive amounts, it can lead to several life threatening diseases and conditions. Stress is not something that happens to you, it results from the psycho-physiological reaction of your brain to what is happening in and around you. Your brain talks to you through the brain waves, reflecting its current status.

Beta brain waves (13 - 30 Hz) accompany your normal activities during the day. There is nothing inherently wrong with them. However, at high beta frequencies you are in mental states associated with anxiety, stress, and general sense of unease and tension. At still higher frequencies, you will have difficulty to think and focus clearly and you are likely to make bad decisions. This is how stress can "burn-out" people alive.

At higher frequencies the brain cells and neurons begin to fire wildly and chaotically, leading to a highly disorganized and unfocused state of mind. If the brain wave frequencies go up any further, you are running the risk of nervous breakdown. Furthermore, at the high beta frequencies, the brain waves from the two brain hemispheres get increasingly out of phase.

Your Anti-Stress Brain Waves - Alpha Waves

Alpha waves vibrate in the range, 7 - 13 Hz. These are present when you are alert and relaxed, and not actively thinking. These waves are mentally integrative. They are often thought to provide the bridge between the conscious and subconscious parts of your mind.

Alpha waves rise from the white matter of your brain and are related to the highly desirable experience of "whole brain thinking". You can deliberately boost alpha waves by closing your eyes or deep breathing.

At lower brain wave frequencies both sides of the brain start to work in sync and communicate better with each other. The neurons and the brain cells begin to operate harmoniously in a coordinated manner. When this happens, you feel a sense of calm; the ! situatio n appears more manageable and you begin to feel in control.

How to Strengthen Alpha Waves

We all know very well know how relaxing it feels when we are near a waterfall or at a beach, because the natural sounds have a relaxing effect on the brain. So many people hear recordings of natural sounds - jungle, flowing river, ocean waves, waterfall, gongs - and find that relaxing.

Now neuro-acoustic technology has taken this observation a step further and has come up with recordings that offer you an amazingly simpler way to relax. The natural sounds are embedded with special sub-audio frequencies, known as binaural beats, monaural beats, or isochronic. These beats or tones have a direct effect on the brain waves, although they are not perceptible to your ears.

So, what happens when you hear such music? Your brain waves tend to resonate at the frequency of the beats - this is called brain wave entrainment. If you change the frequency of the beats, the brain wave frequencies shift towards it in response. In simple terms, the brain waves obediently follow the beat frequency. This is no mean achievement; it gives you the "remote" to control your brain waves!

For instance, a 10 Hz beat will help shift your brain waves to 10 Hz which is in the alpha brain wave region, 7 - 13 Hz. This happens automatically, all you have to do is to play the music and let yourself go with it. Within minutes you will be in the company of alpha wave - and relaxing effortlessly.

Music created by brain wave entrainment technology is also helping people in a variety of manner besides instant stress reduction, such as meditation, lucid dreaming, enhanced memory and creativity, and even higher states of consciousness.

8 Tips - Reduce Postpartum Belly Fat And Stress

Posted: 08 May 2012 07:00 PM PDT

Article by Rosemary Kurtz

For nine blissful months, you were the excited mom-to-be. Most of the time you felt great, and you were the focus of a lot of anticipation.

After all the buildup to having the baby, the excitement of the birth, and all the subsequent visits from admiring family and friends, the stress of being totally responsible for this precious new life sets in. If this is your first baby, this is especially true.

The stress, sleep deprivation and feelings of isolation can be overwhelming. Also, for the majority of new mothers, there is that postpartum belly fat to deal with.

Here are some great tips to smooth your way into being a happy new parent, turning your body into a fat burning furnace and getting your pre-pregnancy body back.

1. Take a rest. Finding time to get horizontal can be a challenge for a new mom. Make it a point to take a nap yourself whenever the baby nods off. Give yourself permission to let the housework slide a little! Lie on your left side with your knees bent. This opens your spine, helping to relieve any pain there.

2. Breathe deeply. Most people don't use a lot of their available lung area. Take ten deep breaths at least three times a day. This will move more oxygen to the brain immediately - at least twenty percent more. You'll clear toxins from your body and increase your thinking power instantly.

3. Avoid fad diets. Don't fall for the cabbage soup diets, Sacred Heart Diets, or any other quickie diets that promise instant results. They're no good for you, or for the baby either. Eat lots of fruits, veggies, and lean protein, plus drink plenty of water. You can't go wrong, and you'll feel much better. That postpartum belly fat will soon be on the way out.

4. Make a list. You've got lots on your mind now, so it's easy to forget something. Human beings' short-term memory can remember only 7 or 8 things. Don't stress yourself by trying to force your brain to do something it isn't wired to do! Write things down for an instant stress-reduction.

5. E at slowly. As a new mom busy with a crying baby, the temptation is to wolf down a sandwich whenever you can grab it. This is a mistake, and it can lead to digestive upset as well. Also, you may feel like you haven't really eaten - so you may be tempted to reach for sweets or greasy chips as a fill-in. Sit at the table and eat from a plate. Put down your fork between bites and chew slowly. Enjoy your food; it's much better for you than eating on-the-go.

6. Avoid caffeine and sugary drinks. Both caffeine and sugar affect your blood sugar levels dramaticlly. If you are nursing, they can also affect your baby's sugar levels, making the baby jittery or cranky. The best beverage for a new mom is plain water. Reducing empty sugar calories is the best first step to getting rid of the postpartum belly fat and the loose, poochy skin that comes with it.

7. Don't skip meals - you'll be skipping the benefits of a higher metabolism. It sounds completely wrong, but you should eat more frequently than before. Just eat smaller meals. A few slices of lean turkey, plus a big glass of cold water and a crunchy red apple make a filling and healthy small meal or snack. If you eat like this five or six times a day, your metabolism and sugar levels will remain consistent, keeping you energized and ready for motherhood.

8. Slowly resume exercising. Being at home with a new infant can be isolating for the new mom. Take an adult companion, put the baby in the stroller and go out for a walk. Take it easy the first few times, especially if you've had a Cesarean. As you regain strength and your doctor gives you the green light, you'll be able to begin or resume weight training and more strenuous aerobic exercise, and start heading back to your pre-pregnancy shape.

Stress and postpartum belly fat are part of the package of new motherhood. You can beat them both with common sense and by starting with these simple steps. You know your body the best. Listen to what it tells you. You'll know when it's time for exerc! ise.

The new-mommy days fly by. Enjoy your new role and that new, precious little person!

Fly-Fishing - The Perfect Stress Reliever

Posted: 08 May 2012 06:00 PM PDT

Article by Sherri Haggard

Today, people are so busy making a living in this hurried and pressured world that stress is becoming a major issue in a person's health. In today's world, time is money and things have to be done quickly and efficiently. Those who can't keep up fall to the wayside and a newcomer takes their place. The process of keeping ahead of the game causes one to lose his edge. It has been said by Lee Iacocca "you either lead, follow, or get out of the way."

Calming Effects of Fly-Fishing

Fly-fishing has a calming effect that reduces stress by introducing you to nature, the calming sounds of nature, and the soothing sounds of running water. The whole sport of fly-fishing is slowing down to enjoy nature, observe what is going on, and then using the rhythmic motion of the fly rod to present the fly.

Fly-fishing is a sport where you take a hands on attitude with one goal: to enjoy the art of an old time sport. It doesn't require a fast moving boat but rather a slow moving boat that meanders across the water. You gracefully present your fly to a fish, watch him gulp it down, and the action begins.

Rewards of Fly-Fishing

Generally, catch and release is the theme of the day. You are fishing for relaxation not having to feed your family. Some fly fisherman keep a few fish. They reward themselves by enjoying one or two of their prizes.

Art and Beauty of Tying Flies

Fly-fishing has an additional side for those who indulge themselves in the art. That is tying their own flies. This can be done at home and can relieve stress by simply getting the person out of the working mode. Just as painting or any other mind clearing medium can focus and calm the mind, so can tying flies.

The sharing of times with others of the beautiful scenery and experience gives them something to relate to other than business. More and more executives, politicians, doctors, and lawyers need stress relief. Going back to a less stressful world is a way of doing just that.

! From cho osing a rod that suits their needs to choosing the right fly or tying their own. Fly-fishing is just the ticket to stress reduction. Oh yes, there is also those who take pride in fly tying and conversing with others who also fly fish. There are fly tying clubs and fly-fishing resorts designed to help the modern day execs relax, smell the roses, and destress.
