There is one sentence which I think valuable need to be holding our life. The sentence is "Human being imprisoned in his own mind". I was thinking this sentence was only a poet... But slowly I can see more clearly what the sentence meant. Many people are too believe the possibility of fact compared. They live according news and fact that they get from TV, radio, and their friends are on average pessimistic.

If condition state deteriorated and it became headline news on TV, then questions like "Are we going to improved conditions?", "Do you live in the City Safe?", "Are Hard to Move?" and must have will be answered "You are weird... as you already know, really still asking for a dummy question", "it can not, look at the facts" And if you "try" to convince them that they can buy expensive stuff during difficult conditions, they would laugh and say "Huh? Goods expensive? impossible for difficult situation like this..!!?", "You're dreaming man..!!" Then I remembered the phrase "Human nature being imprisoned in his own mind..." on his reality that is so... many people are imprisoned and even imprisoned by mind his own circumstances, the facts, news, TV and other say... They like have not want to be able to take an ideal situation according to their own desires they have more confidence because the natural mind that they restrict own limits

I had time to think "Is there anyone who actually enjoy the wealth when the financial crisis?" and so I open my mind for the possibility that! I thoug ht impossible.On my head catch all the details of the things affected by what I ask them... One of them is when I watch the news on TV (and missed the news about the crisis, crime and negative facts of course), I saw the news about painting painting exhibition worth hundreds of millions to billions. Why at the time of crisis there are not feel the crisis and even a waste of money to buy only for paintings? Of those pessimists who "smart ass" would say "oh yes he is lucky and rich by nature!" and various kinds of logic essentially pessimistic the nature imprisoned only his own thoughts. And of course I think more... "whether of the many exhibition visitors all lucky?"...or some of them not lucky, they reveal the natural mind exceed

Even more strange again, I see show room sport car. Of course what I thought was "Is there anyone would buy the product when the crisis is being...?" but wait a minute... "If no one is buying these cars, why it Show Room still open..?" I think these means in more than 10 / month the cars is sold. Although strange, but certainly this is give us some of enlightenment that we humans are imprisoned in our own minds is not it? fact that can change and change perception is relative to each of us... fact will still be if we let the fact are the the fact without continue so to do anything to change it. You are what you believe... and that's fact. If you believe that it is hard, so be difficult... If you believe that it is easy, you will always find the most easy way to make it into easy. try more and try to open your mind with the name possible. Don't be fear to experiments with different possibilities.

Try to releasing your mind with the thought that all is possible and all that may not be difficult. Your courage to take risks and against the pain discomfort caused you has not seen it fact. If you are applying these thoughts, then you will see easiness and you never seen before... You'll really be surprised fact that life is really not as difficult as what you think.

16 Essential Tips for Traveling with a Family

Traveling with a family is a completely different beast than traveling solo or as a couple — I've done both numerous times, and the two experiences don't even seem related.

Eva and I just got back from a 3-week trip through southern Europe with five of our kids. It was a wild adventure, going through six foreign cities on foot and by train, speaking broken bits of three foreign languages, exploring cities and coastlines all day long, soaking in sun and history and wine.

We loved it. We exhausted the kids, but came back wiser, tanner, and better off for having seen more of the world and its peoples.

This post isn't meant to give an account of our trip, but to share some of what I've learned about traveling with a family, in hopes that it will help other families who travel.

Here are some random things I've learned:

  1. Pack light as hell. If you're traveling in multiple cities, that means you're dragging everything you pack around for miles. We each carried a tiny backpack (mine was 16 liters) with just a change of clothes, a book and a few toiletries. My packing list: a t-shirt, shorts, 2 pairs of quick-dry boxers, 2 pairs of socks, a book, deodorant, razor, toothbrush, 11″ Macbook Air. That all takes up very little space and weighs a tiny amount. In addition I was wearing jeans, a t-shirt, underwear, socks and tennis shoes. There was a big contrast between us, with our small backpacks, and others who had roller luggage, big backpacks, suitcases and other heavy things they were lugging around everywhere.
  2. Stay in central apartments. We avoid hotels, as we'd have to rent several rooms for our large family. It's cheaper to rent an apartment, which also comes with a kitchen and often a washer/dryer and a living room. It's much more comfortable. We will rent an apartment in each city we visit, and try to find ones that are central, so we can walk to the best areas from our home base, and come back for naps if necessary.
  3. Walk everywhere (with some mass transit). The best way to explore a place is by foot, not car or tour bus. You cover less ground on foot, but you only really see a place when you walk it. Bikes would be next best, but not manageable for a large family. We have good walking shoes and are in good walking shape from walking around in our home city. It's so much fun to walk through winding medieval streets, stop and drink from ancient fountains, grab a croissant or gelato whenever you like, see locals walking around, stop in a little shop if it catches your fancy, see nature up close. And it's a good workout. We learn to use the local mass transit system a bit, when we're in a city, so we can easily get to further areas and walk around there.
  4. Get lost. You don't really learn a place until you get lost in it. I always get a map of where we are, and try to orient myself, but I also like to put the map away for a bit and get a bit lost, so I can find my way through exploring and wrong turns. You also discover the most unexpected things when you allow yourself to get lost. Wander, explore, discover, be surprised.
  5. Gelato will keep kids happy. Kids get tired walking, and bored of historical sites and museums. But if you buy them a gelato every afternoon, they perk up, and smiles suddenly appear as if from nowhere. After sampling a bunch of different gelato flavors the first few days in Rome, I discovered I always regretted not getting chocolate gelato. So I came up with a rule for myself: Always get chocolate gelato. I never regretted it for the rest of the trip.
  6. Use your trip as a language course. Knowing we were going to Italy, France and Spain, we learned a bit of the languages before we left. The kids had fun learning to say hello, thank you, and where's the bathroom, among other phrases. We never got fluent, but I think we all learned a bit about cultures and languages, and it was a great start. There's no better way to practice a language than visiting the country.
  7. Ask locals for recommendations. Guide books and the Internet are great, but the best recommendations come from people who really live there. Before we left, I asked for recommendations from locals (on Google+) and made a list. While we were in each city, I would ask locals we met for recommendations as well, and came up with some delightful discoveries.
  8. Avoid tourist traps. We tried to avoid the most touristy places, though of course you can't avoid seeing the historical sights like the Colosseum in Rome or the Duomo in Florence. But if you do go to highly touristed places, avoid the shops and restaurants that surround them. They are expensive, bad quality, and aimed at the tastes of tourists instead of locals. Walk 5-10 minutes to find something better.
  9. Have something to keep kids busy on trains. I don't mind train rides at all, but the kids get bored. So they each have some kind of device, like an iPod touch or game device, to play games, listen to music and watch movies. Not my favorite thing in the world for them to do, but so much better than complaints of being bored for several hours.
  10. Naps are good. We tend to leave each morning for exploring, and then come back after a late lunch for a nap. The kids get tired walking around in the sun, and so do we. A nap of an hour (or three if you're jetlagged) is a good thing, and we usually would head out when the day was cooling down for some evening sightseeing and dinner.
  11. Buy groceries. We tend to buy cereal and yogurt and fruit for breakfast, along with coffee and maybe some things for dinner or snacks. This allows us to save money, eat something a bit healthier than pastries and pizza at least one or two meals of the day, and relax at home in the mornings and during our afternoon break. It's one of the good things about having an apartment.
  12. One or two days isn't enough to see a place. I found 4-5 days a better number. In one or two days, you're rushing through the major sites and don't get to relax, or if you go at a slower pace you don't get enough of a sample of a city to really know it. Of course, if you don't have kids, you could spend a week or three in a good destination, but with kids I'd recommend a medium timeframe like 4-5 days.
  13. Spice up the history lessons. Traveling makes history come alive. I will usually do a little research and then tell the kids stories about the sites we're visiting. Still, they get bored with that sometimes, so you have to spice up the history with tales of wars, romances, pirates and tragic deaths. I'm not saying you should make stuff up (though I won't tell if you do), but look for that stuff in the histories and highlight it.
  14. Have relaxation days. While exploring cities by foot is great, sometimes you need a longer break than an afternoon nap. So we'd have days where we lounged around on the beach or parks most of the day instead of sightseeing, and it was a great way to recharge the batteries.
  15. Wine makes things more relaxed. Eva and I would often have wine with lunch, and definitely with dinner. It made us more relaxed as we had to manage herding five kids around busy streets that we didn't know, using languages we couldn't speak. We smiled more, breathed easier. Also, red wine is like health food.
  16. It's a grand adventure. Things will go wrong. You'll not only get lost, you'll lose things, miss trains, find the place you're going to closed. You can make the best of plans, but the truth is, you don't control things. Life has its own plans. The key is to smile, accept the way things are, and see it all as part of your great adventure. And this is the philosophy you should convey to the kids, even before you travel, to make their experience all the more enjoyable and enlightening.

Scientologists believe that Hubbard discovered the fundamental truths of existence, and they revere him as "the source" of the religion. Hubbard's writings offer a "technology" of spiritual advancement and self-betterment that provides "the means to attain true spiritual freedom and immortality." A church publication declares, "Scientology works 100 percent of the time when it is properly applied to a person who sincerely desires to improve his life." Proof of this efficacy, the church says, can be measured by the accomplishments of its adherents. "As Scientologists in all walks of life will attest, they have enjoyed greater success in their relationships, family life, jobs and professions. They take an active, vital role in life and leading roles in their communities. In 1975, the year that Haggis became a Scientologist, John Travolta, a high-school dropout, was making his first movie, "The Devil's Rain," in Durango, Mexico, when an actress on the set gave him a copy of "Dianetics." "My career immediately took off," he told a church publication. "Scientology put me into the big time." The testimonials of such celebrities have attracted many curious seekers. In Variety, Scientology has advertised courses promising to help aspiring actors "make it in the industry."

One of those actors, Josh Brolin, told me that, in a "moment of real desperation," he visited the Celebrity Centre and received "auditing"--spiritual counselling. He quickly decided that Scientology wasn't for him. But he still wonders what the religion does for celebrities like Cruise and Travolta: "Each has a good head on his shoulders, they make great business decisions, they seem to have wonderful families. Is that because they were helped by Scientology?" This is the question that makes celebrities so crucial to the religion. And, clearly, there must be something rewarding if such notable people lend their names to a belief system that is widely scorned.

Brolin says that he once witnessed John Travolta practicing Scientology. Brolin was at a dinner party in Los Angeles ! with Tra volta and Marlon Brando. Brando arrived with a cut on his leg, and explained that he had injured himself while helping a stranded motorist on the Pacific Coast Highway. He was in pain. Travolta offered to help, saying that he had just reached a new level in Scientology. Travolta touched Brando's leg and Brando closed his eyes. "I watched this process going on--it was very physical," Brolin recalls. "I was thinking, This is really fucking bizarre! Then, after ten minutes, Brando opens his eyes and says, 'That really helped. I actually feel different!' " (Travolta, through a lawyer, called this account "pure fabrication.")

Many Hollywood actors were drawn into the church by a friend or by reading "Dianetics"; a surprising number of them, though, came through the Beverly Hills Playhouse. For decades, the resident acting coach there was Milton Katselas, and he taught hundreds of future stars, including Ted Danson, Michelle Pfeiffer, and George Clooney. "Most of Hollywood went through that class," Anne Archer told me. In 1974, two years after her son Tommy Davis was born, she began studying with Katselas. She was a young mother in a dissolving marriage, coming off a television series ("Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice") that had been cancelled after one season. Katselas had a transformative effect. She recalled discussions "about life, people, and behavior," and said that Katselas "said some things in class that were really smart." Some of the other students told her that Katselas was a Scientologist, so she began the Life Repair program at the Celebrity Centre. "I went two or three times a week, probably for a couple of weeks," she said. "I remember walking out of the building and walking down the street toward my car and I felt like my feet were not touching the ground. And I said to myself, 'My God, this is the happiest I've ever been in my entire life. I've finally found something that works.' " She added, "Life didn't seem so hard anymore. I was back in the driver's seat."

Jim Gordon, a ! veteran police officer in Los Angeles, and also an aspiring actor, spent ten years at the Playhouse, starting in 1990. He told me that Scientology "recruited a ton of kids out of that school." Like Scientology, the Playhouse presented a strict hierarchy of study; under Katselas's tutelage, students graduated from one level to the next. As Gordon advanced within the Playhouse, he began recognizing many students from the roles they were getting in Hollywood. "You see a lot of people you know from TV," Gordon says. He began feeling the pull of the church. "When you started off, they weren't really pushing it, but as you progressed through the Playhouse's levels Scientology became more of a focus," he told me. After a few years, he joined. Like the courses at the Playhouse, Scientology offered actors a method that they could apply to both their lives and their careers.

Not long after Gordon became a Scientologist, he was asked to serve as an "ethics officer" at the Playhouse, monitoring the progress of other students and counselling those who were having trouble. He was good at pinpointing students who were struggling. "It's almost like picking out the wounded chicks," he says. He sometimes urged a student to meet with the senior ethics officer at the Playhouse, a Scientologist who often recommended courses at the Celebrity Centre. "My job was to keep the students active and make sure they were not being suppressed," Gordon says. In the rhetoric of Scientology, "suppressive persons"--or S.P.s--block an individual's spiritual progress. Implicitly, the message to the students was that success awaited them if only they could sweep away the impediments to stardom, including S.P.s. Katselas received a ten-per-cent commission from the church on the money contributed by his students.

Katselas died in 2008, and Scientology no longer has a connection with the Beverly Hills Playhouse. Anne Archer told me that the reputation of Katselas's class as, in Gordon's words, a "Scientology clearinghouse" is overblown. "His! classes averaged about fifty or sixty people, and there would be maybe seven to ten people in it who would be Scientologists," she says. But the list of Scientologists who have studied at the Playhouse is long--it includes Jenna Elfman, Giovanni Ribisi, and Jason Lee--and the many protégés Katselas left behind helped cement the relationship between Hollywood and the church.

Each of us shares at least one common characteristic - we all have a mind and a heart. Although we often use these two words, their definitions and thus their power to influence our lives can be quite diverse. This article aims to investigate exactly this relationship.

So let us start with the mind, which is often also called the rational mind. The mind is our tool of analyzing our past and present. It tells us what is good and what is bad based on our experience. The keyword here is experience. The mind only knows the things it has experience of. For everything else it simply says: "I don't think that is safe, I have not experienced it yet." Another keyword here would be safe - the mind always wants to be safe and protect us from disappointment, failure, danger and any other connected negative emotions. But is the mind holding us back from something else in the meantime?

On the other hand, we have the heart. The heart is supposed to be the irrational party, the dreamer. If the mind is looking to the past, then the heart is looking to the future. The heart is focused on future possibilities to pursue one's dreams and desires. If one's experience is stocked in the mind, then it would be fair to say that one's desires are stocked in the heart. The heart wants to fulfill these desires, it wants to try new things, and in doing so it is not afraid of failure, disappointment, pain or any other negative emotions. It is blind to them and sees only possibility for something bigger.

So, in these two we have a great struggle. Every person can feel this struggle in themselves. For example, you want to quit your regular job and ! start yo ur own business. In such a case it would be your heart, which is dragging you to realize this dream and on the other hand it would be your mind, which would tell you to stick to what you already have. Your heart says: "Come on, let's show them what you can do, let's take it to the top!" Your mind, on the other hand, opposes: "But what if you fail? You have never done this before, why do you think that you can succeed? Better lay low."

So whose advice are you going to listen to? It goes without saying that most people heed to the advice of the mind and stick to what they have, although they might dislike it. After all, they already have that. And what about the heart? It is more often than not left betrayed. This reflection can bring clarity about who you are as a person and what you require to express yourself in life. True happiness only comes when you are being genuinely you. When you are being you genuinely, then you have a deep love for yourself and this makes you happy.

If you have decided that you need something from another person in order to be genuinely you, then you will be unhappy after a divorce.

There are so many awesome benefits that come with accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Savior, from healing to financial increase; however, the one that heads up the list and is actually the source of every promise you could ever receive from God is the blessing. Many times, when we talk about the blessing, we focus on the tangible material items that make our lives comfortable, such as houses and cars. But the blessing is much more than that. It is actually an empowerment to prosper and have success in every area of our lives.

When the blessing is in operation, nothing can stop you or hold you back from obtaining everything God has promised you. Ephesians 1:3 says that if we are a part of the Kingdom of God, through our acceptance of Jesus Christ, we have already been blessed with every spiritual blessing available. That means we have wisdom and power that enables us to do and accomplish anything. Spiritual blessings also include things like healing, increase, and spiritual gifts that God can impart in our lives to be a blessing to others. When we are blessed, we are empowered to excel.

If we go back to the book of Genesis and look at the account of the creation story, we discover that, when God created mankind, He equipped Adam and Eve with this very blessing. Genesis 1:27, 28 says, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." God endowed the first man and woman with the ability to absolutely dominate the earth realm. That power was the blessing!

Unfortunately, when Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden and ate of the forbidden fruit, they lost their spiritual connection to the Father and, consequently, the blessing. But the good news is that, through Jesus, t! he power of the blessing has been restored! Galatians 3:13, 14 says, "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."

The "promise" mentioned here in this scripture is the blessing! It is the empowerment God originally bestowed on Adam and Eve, and then a man called Abraham. Jesus came through the lineage of Abraham, and through His substitutionary sacrifice on the cross, each of us now has access to the blessing when we receive Him by faith. When the blessing is on your life, you have success no matter where you are. Joseph was a prime example of this. When he was thrown in prison for being falsely accused of raping his master's wife, God showed him favor with the prison staff! In time, he became the overseer of the entire facility (Genesis 39:1-23).

So how do we activate the blessing in our lives? By speaking the Word of God! God's Word is blessed, and when we begin to understand the power of our words and align them with what the Bible says, we turn on the power of the blessing. It will begin working for us, in us, and around us when we use our mouths to declare the Word with boldness, and in faith.

The more we speak the Word, the more our minds will be renewed to the reality that we are blessed. Developing a blessing consciousness involves paying more attention to the empowerment God has equipped us with than we do the circumstances and situations going on around us. When you know you have been blessed, your confidence in the blessing will propel you to victory, all the time!

Jean Kristeller, Ph.D "Mindfulness Based Eating"

eomega.org Jean L. Kristeller, PhD, a clinial psychologist, has used meditation-based interventions for eating disorders and obesity for more than 20 years. She is active in research that explores the role of meditation and spirituality in the treatment of serious medical illnesses. Her current work examines ways to integrate meditative techniques into more comprehensive therapy or support programs for those suffering with cancer and binge eating disorder. She began developing the Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training program more than 15 years ago, drawing on her work with Jon Kabat-Zinn's Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program and on her research and clinical training in food intake regulation and eating disorders. She has completed an NIH-funded clinical trial, run collaboratively with the Duke University Center for Integrative Medicine, that confirmed the efficacy of mindfulness meditation in managing binge eating disorder. She has recently received additional funding from the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine to continue researching mindfulness meditation and its affect on food intake regulation and obesity with Duke University and the University of Pennsylvania. Kristeller has taught at Harvard University, University of Massachusetts Medical School, and Indiana State University and is cofounder of The Center for Mindful Eating.

Meditation Guided Techniques for Children

Meditation guided activities are generally associated with adult use, but really there is no reason not to bring your children in on your meditation sessions. In fact, children may be more susceptible to the benefits of meditation than adults are, so putting your kids on the guided meditation track is not only a great family activity, but also provides them with a great background of spiritual activity that they can carry into adulthood.

Children tend to have shorter attention spans than adults, so if your children do not sit rigidly still while you try to teach them to meditate, do not fight it. You can still guide their thoughts with regular meditation guided techniques, even if they fidget. It is another matter if they want to get up and do something else. Be patient with the kids, as they might not understand the purpose of meditating. They will come around soon enough.

Before beginning, you should explain what meditating is about and what exactly you will be doing. Be sure to explain why it is an important activity. You might want to give specific examples of how meditation guided work has helped you in the past, and how it can help your child right now.

If your child's thoughts wander while trying to meditate, allow it. This is your child's natural creativity coming through, and creativity is an excellent asset to have while meditating. You can even take these wandering thoughts and turn them into mantras for your child. However, you may want to facilitate the use of meditation music to help keep them a little more focused.

Whatever breathing exercises or other relaxation methods you use before meditating will be just as helpful for your children. While you may use a meditation guided CD or DVD to help you meditate, your children will generally respond best if you give them directions. If you want to give them the same instruction you receive, you can simply rephrase your guided meditation directions in your own words so that your children will feel at ease.

It would probably be a good idea to emphasize visualization and mental imagery techniques, as your children will likely respond to these more concrete aspects as opposed to some of the more abstract concepts. You may want to consider giving children meditation beads or stones after some initial sessions, as this can give them something tangible to work with as they become increasingly meditation guided.

Pregnant Women Who Binge Drink Imbibe As Much As Nonpregnant Women

Pregnant women are much less likely to engage in binge drinking than other women, but pregnant women who do binge drink tend to so just as often, and to drink just as much as their nonpregnant counterparts, according to a new report.

The report says that 15 percent of nonpregnant women reported binge drinking in the past 30 days, while 1.4 percent of pregnant woman said the same. However, both pregnant and nonpregnant women who said they binge drink reported doing so about three times a month, on average, and having about six drinks per occasion.

"This is concerning, because binge drinking is a dangerous pattern of alcohol consumption for both pregnant and nonpregnant women, said Clark Denny, a health scientist at the CDC's National Centers on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities.

For women, binge drinking is defined as drinking four or more drinks on an occasion.

Women who binge drink before becoming pregnant are more likely than women who don't binge drink to continue drinking after becoming pregnant, according to the report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). By conducting alcohol screening and interventions for nonpregnant women, health care providers could reduce the use of alcohol by pregnant women, the researchers said.

At least 1 percent of U.S. births are affected by a fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, such as fetal alcohol syndrome. Such disorders can cause neurological deficits and lifelong disabilities.

Studies done in animals have suggested that binge drinking is more dangerous to fetal brain development than drinking even a greater total amount of alcohol in a more continuous drinking pattern, according to the report.

The report is based on data gathered on 345,076 women, including 13,880 pregnant women, between ages 18 and 44 from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, a telephone survey that collects information on health-related behaviors U.S. adults.

The researchers also found that 7.6 percent of pregnant women reported drinking any alcohol in the past 30 days, but there were sharp differences among pregnant women of different ages. While 14.3 percent of pregnant women between ages 35 and 44 reported drinking, 4.5 percent of those between ages 18 and 24 said the same.

A previous CDC report, based on data gathered between 1991 and 2005, found that 12.2 percent of pregnant women reported drinking in the past 30 days. While the new report shows that percentage to be lower, the drop may have in part been due to a re-ordering of the survey questions, Denny said. In the earlier version, questions about drinking appeared before the question asking women if they were pregnant; in the current survey they are asked if they are pregnant first. Women may be less likely to report drinking after they've disclosed their pregnancy, he said.

White women were more likely to report any drinking during pregnancy than women of other races, and college graduates and employed women were more likely to report drinking than women who had less education or were employed.

US on Track for Record-High Whooping Cough Rate

Whooping cough infections in the U.S. may be on track for record-high rates this year, researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said today.

So far in 2012, there have been nearly 18,000 cases of whooping cough reported to the CDC, said Dr. Anne Schuchat, director of the CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. That's more than twice the number of cases reported by this time last year, Schuchat said, and more than occurred during the first part of the last five years.

There were 27,000 whooping cough infections reported in 2010.

If this year's rate of infections continues, 2012 could have the highest number of infections since 1959, Schuchat said at a news conference.

In Washington State, which is currently experiencing a whooping cough epidemic, there have been more than 3,000 cases this year, said Mary Selecky, secretary of the Washington State Department of Health. That's a large increase from the 200 cases reported in the region during the same time period last year, and the highest number of cases in any year since the 1940s, Selecky said.

Particularly high rates of the disease were seen in 10-year-olds, and in teens ages 13 to 14, despite the fact that many of these adolescents had received a whooping cough booster shot just a few years before, according to a new CDC report on the Washington epidemic.

A similar trend of increased whooping cough, or pertussis, infections in pre-teens and teens has been observed nationally, the CDC report said.

The findings suggest that the immunity offered by the current vaccine, known as the accellular pertussis vaccine, fades after a few years, leaving some groups vulnerable to infection, the CDC says.

The CDC is studying whooping cough epidemics, such as the one in Washington, to determine whether changes in the vaccination schedule for teens or adults will be needed, Schuchat said.

This accellular pertussis vaccine was introduced in 1997, after concerns that the previous vaccine, called the whole cell pertussis vaccine, caused unwanted side effects in some, such as fever and swelling at the injection site. The older version was less purified, but thought to offer long-lasting protection.

While the new vaccine's protection may not last as long, vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself and those close to you from whooping cough, the CDC report said. Unvaccinated children are eight times more likely to catch pertussis than vaccinated children.

Infants are the most susceptible to the disease, and receive vaccinations at 2, 4 and 6 months of age through the diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (DtaP) series of shots. A fourth shot is given between ages 15 and 18 months, and a final shot between 4 to 6 years.

A booster shot, called Tdap, is recommended for pre-teens ages 11 to 12. Pregnant women and those in contact with infants are also recommended to receive one dose of Tdap.

In light of recent whooping cough epidemics, public health efforts should focus on increasing vaccination rates, the CDC experts said.

In 2010, just 8 percent of adults had received the Tdap booster, Schuchat said. "We know we can do so much better," she said.

Your first step is to declare, out loud, that you will not allow any outside force to do your thinking - no man and no spirit. There are spiritual laws that demons must obey. They cannot stay where a man wills them not to stay. Your power is in the Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, and the Word of God. Ask God to give you discernment of the lies of the devil.

How often do we think about "what we are thinking about?" As you recognize a lie that comes to your mind, always defend yourself out loud. That means speaking to Satan and the evil forces out loud, binding them in the Name of Jesus and forbidding them to lie to you and to use your mind.

When you catch a lie that comes to your mind, use the prescription on the next page. You will regain peace, your memory, restful nights, and the ability to concentrate and comprehend.

You are in a battle for your mind. Satan chooses to attack our minds, because if he can control our thinking, he can control all of us.

You are not alone, for all of God's people fight this same fight (Eph 6:12). Make up your mind not to give up. According to Col. 3:2 (Amplified Bible) "Set your mind on things above and keep it set"

As you begin this battle, it might seem worse than ever. The reason is that the demonic powers are fighting to keep their place in your mind (and in your thinking). Call upon God's Grace in the Name of Jesus, and He will give you the power of the Holy Spirit to fully overcome every evil.

Remember, regaining your mind is a process. We all fail at one time or another. God knows our weaknesses. That is why He gave us 1 John 1:9! . "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. "Just ask for forgiveness, and see the Blood of Jesus washing away your sins. Don't give up. Continue claiming what belongs to you (your mind and your thinking belong to you ), and Jesus will help you overcome.

II Tim. 1;7 says, "For God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Poll: Parental Consent Should Be Required for HPV Vaccine

Most adults say teenagers should be able to freely access treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, but most say parental consent should be required for the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.

Researchers surveyed 2,131 adults and found that 45 percent supported allowing teens to receive the HPV vaccine without parental consent, but 57 percent said teens should be able to get STD prevention measures.The poll found that55 percent said teens should be able get STD treatments without parental consent, just not the HPV vaccine.

"These poll results show the majority of adults view HPV vaccination as distinct from sexually transmitted infection prevention, and are reluctant to support taking away parental consent," said study author Sarah Clark, of the University of Michigan and the National Poll on Children's Health.

The researchers polled a nationally representative sample of adults, who did not have to have children to participate, on a variety of sexual health issues.

The human papillomavirus causes cervical cancer in women, and genital warts in both sexes. It has also been linked to neck, head and skin cancers. The Food and Drug Administration approved the vaccine forfemales in June 2006, and for males in October 2011.

It's recommended that individuals be vaccinated before becoming sexually active, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

This means that the vaccine should be administered as early as age 11 or 12, which can be a tough thing for many parents to consider, the researchers said.

"Parents aren't thinking their 11- or 12-year-old child is ready for sexual activity," Clark says. "Many parents ask to delay the vaccine until their child is a little older. But older teens go to the doctor much less than younger adolescents, and often, they go without a parent."

Despite the push for parental consent, 74 percent of those polled agreed that getting the vaccine is a good decision.

The findings were part of the by the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital National Poll on Children's Health.
