"We all imagine that how we are going to react in that situation. It is so useful that we choose team composition and make strategy according to that," he added.

Chetri is well aware that Mission London is going to be very tough for them but he goes by the new mantra of "convert your weaknesses into your strength".

This is what London Olympic (1948) gold medallist Lezley Claudius and Keshav Dutt told Chetri before the team's departure for the Europe tour.

"I know London Olympics will be a very tough challenge. But I got a chance to meet Mr Claudius and Mr Dutt before our departure. They told me to convert weaknesses into strengths. Whenever we have a bad period on field, this mantra comes into my mind and inspires me to excel," said the veteran goalkeeper.

"We have to improve our passing. We played well in some matches on the Europe tour but passing is not upto the mark. We are working hard on it," said the captain.

According to him the strength of the team lies in bonding.

"Team bonding, focus and attacking game are our strengths. We have an excellent forward line and I am sure they will live upto the expectations," he said.

"We are playing together for the last six months. There is great coordination among players. If one has a problem, all are there to solve that. Being a captain, I am very fortunate to lead such a bunch of great players," said Chetri.

India will play their first match against Holland on July 30 and Chetri is confident of winning that.

"It is a tough match but we are ready for that. We are confident that if we play to our potential, we can win that. Our penalty corner specialists Sandeep Singh and VR Raghunath have some new weapons in their armour and they will open their cards in Olympics only." he said.

One of the hazards of our modern lifestyle is our tendency to become more and more addicted to staring at screens, and more and more sedentary.

We look at laptops and desktop computers, iPhones and Androids and iPads and iPods, TVs and movie screens, play video games, watch videos, surf the web, socialize online, work online. And we're sitting the whole time.

I'm a victim of this as much as anyone else. My family and I are drifting toward this lifestyle, and while I'm no Luddite, I do believe that we should live less as victims and more consciously.

Too much screen time means less active time, less personal socializing, less focus on the present, less time for cooking healthy food, less time reading novels, painting, making music, making time for the ones you love. And too much sitting means fewer years on your life.

So what's a better way?

Limits.

Limit how much screen time you have each day. Limit your sitting to short periods with breaks in between.

I realize that many people have jobs that require them to have a minimum amount of computer time, and probably mostly sitting. So I don't recommend a certain number, only that you figure out a limit and work with that.

What I've Been Doing

Though I've set limits for myself in the past, I'll admit that they've eroded in recent months, so that my screen time has grown over time. And not just for me — for my wife and kids. So recently Eva and I set limits for ourselves, and we've been working with them.

We find them to be great. I find daily limits to be a better balance than going on week-long or month-long digital sabbaticals, which aren't realistic for many people.

Here's an example:

  1. We set a limit of either 4 or 5 hours of total screen time a day. (We haven't figured out what's best yet, still experimenting.)
  2. That total is broken into 30-minute chunks. So if it's 5 hours total, that's 10 chunks of 30 minutes.
  3. At the start of a 30-minute chunk, I set a computer timer and put a tally mark on a text document, so I know how many chunks I've used today. When the bell rings, I close my laptop.
  4. After the 30-minute chunk, I take a break of at least 30 minutes. I try to get up and move, stretch, play with the kids, get outside. I also often read a novel. The moving is good for my body, and helps me to think.
  5. If I have things I want to look up online, or write online, I'll just make a note of it and do it when I start my next 30-minute chunk.

This isn't the only way to do it — you'll have to find the limit that works for you, and the chunk size that works for you. But the idea is to set limits, and to break the total up into pieces so you'll take breaks and do other things.

Benefits of the Limits

We've loved it: we're reading more books, spending more personal time with each other and the kids, getting more chores done, exercising more, playing outside more.

It also means that because we have a limit, we have to figure out the best way to use that time. We have to make choices — what's worthy of our limited time, and what isn't? This means more conscious use of our time.

We haven't instituted the limits with the kids yet, though we have been talking to them about it and getting them thinking about what would work best for them. And we do tell them to take breaks from devices throughout the day, so they'll do other things.

For the kids, this has meant they have more unstructured, imaginative play, more reading, more art and music, more activity. Kids get addicted to screens just as much as adults do, and it's not a healthy thing for them. We're trying to teach them ways to live a healthy lifestyle, which is a lesson with lifelong benefits.

We've found this lifestyle to be healthier, better for relationships, better for our peace of mind. And to me, that means it's something work keeping.

How?

  1. As best you can, take care of yourself and those you care for. Protect yourself against ongoing or potential harms. Do what you can to repair the damage done to you. Keep making your life a good one.
  2. Ask for support. We are intensely, viscerally social animals. It is much easier to forgive your trespassers after others bear witness to the ways you've been mistreated. (This point also speaks to the importance of bearing witness to harms done to others, whether it is the impact of a teenager's coldness on your mate, or the impacts of religious prejudice on millions of people.)
  3. Honor the wound. Try not to be overwhelmed, but open to the shock, hurt, sense of injustice, anger, or other aspects of the experience. Allow the thoughts and feelings and related desires to have breathing room, and to ebb and flow over time with their own organic rhythms. Forgiveness is not about shutting down your feelings; opening to the experience in a big space of mindful awareness is an aid to forgiveness.
  4. Check your story. Watch out for exaggerating how awful, significant, or unforgivable the incident was. Be careful about assuming intent; with modern life, most of us are pretty stressed and scatterbrained much of the time; maybe you unfortunately just bumped into someone else's bad day. Put the event in perspective: was it really that big a deal, given all the other good things about the person who upset you? Maybe it was, but maybe it wasn't.
  5. Appreciate the value of forgiveness. Ask yourself: what does my grievance, my resentment, cost me? Cost others I care about? What would it be like to lay those burdens down?
  6. See the big picture. Consider the "10,000 causes" upstream from the person who hurt you, like his or her life and childhood, parents, finances, temperament, health, mental state just before whatever happened, etc.
  7. Try not to take wounds so personally. There's an old saying: each day wounds, and the last one kills. We all get wounded. This doesn't mean making yourself a target or letting wrongdoers off the hook, but it does mean recognizing that the price of being alive includes some inevitable pain – and the risk of serious injury in one form or another. It's not personal. It's life. We don't need to feel offended by it.
  8. Help yourself come to peace. Accept that the past is fixed and will not change; the bad thing will never not have happened. Disengage your mind from your story, narrative, "case" about the events. Steer clear of people who fan the flames of outrage. Focus on the good things in your life, on gratitude. It's bad enough that people have harmed you; don't add insult to injury by getting caught up with them inside your own head; for example, they may have gotten away with some of your money, but don't also give them your mind.

There are several grades of Meditations which might range from novice to expert.  Most Western Meditations are in the category of novice.  A novice, for example, is confused between the second skandha, feeling, and bliss or sukha.  He is convinced that bliss is like feeling.  But if this person had actually experienced bliss, instead of guessing, he would understand that even in pain, bliss does not subside for the reason that it is different than feeling.

On the subject of nirvana (P., nibbana), the novice unconsciously assumes that nirvana is conditioned like other things.  It never dawns on him that his psychophysical body, which is completely conditioned, is incapable of being an apt instrument by which to connect with the unconditioned, that is, nirvana. Yet, he never shuts up trying to explain nirvana by way of conditions.  This novice is even clueless as to the role of meditation in penetrating through the rind of the conditioned to attain nirvana, which in the Pali canon is called the Deathless Great Nibbana.

This same novice doesn't comprehend how nirvana can be the end of suffering (duhkha).  It never dawns on him that only the conditioned suffers, and since nirvana is unconditioned (P., asankhatma) suffering is impossible!

Competent Meditations who have actually read a great deal of the Meditation canon don't make too many mistakes like the novice who walks down the path of delusion, hatred, and sensuality.  This is why good teachers demand of beginners to STFU zip their lips until they've spent at least three to four years reading and studying the discourses of the Buddha.  Of course, for those at a rank below novice (dimwits?) there is always learning to do zazen—just sit and sit and sit.

Some mind controllers go beyond the carnal mind and do spiritual mind control where other forces in dark places help them to care out their sinister plan against you.

Such as you lose sight of your goals and dreams you take on their identity instead of your own. You lose faith in yourself all hope is gone you are no longer living for you but you are living for them. These forces in dark places convince you to give up your will in order to take on the controller's will for your life. When this happens you are heading for a downward spiral.

There is good news you can get your mind back; however it will take a Higher Power to help you get back on track. This Higher Power has the power to break any spirit of mind control. You may say what is a Higher Power? It is something beyond your carnal thinking and ability it is supernatural. When you use all you human strength this Higher Power comes and does what you cannot do, and that is to set you free from the spirit of mind control.

One of the most popular Vinyasa yoga exercises is the Ashtanga yoga. Ashtanga yoga still uses the same yoga poses that are used in regular, slow paced yoga but it also combines some athletic movements.

The main difference between! a fast paced yoga and a slow paced yoga is the speed of the movements between the poses. Also the time held in a post is not as long. So instead of moving slowly between poses and holding the pose for a certain time period, one would move much faster between poses and only briefly hold the pose. The movements between poses are much more athletic.

You shouldn't start out with a power yoga class if you are new to yoga. Start off with a regular yoga class as this will still have weight loss advantages. Yoga will also help tone your muscles and make your body more flexible.

If you have never done yoga before you may find it difficult to believe that this gentle form of exercise will possibly help with weight loss but it really does. When you are holding poses you are developing muscle control and balance. When you improve muscle tone and balance your body will burn calories much more efficiently.

When you practise yoga it will also benefit you when you do other types of aerobic exercises. As your body becomes more flexible and your muscles become more toned and stronger you will become more efficient at aerobic exercises.

It can be very beneficial to do some aerobic exercises two or three times a week and also do some yoga exercise for weight loss two or three times a week. You will be amazed at your weight loss results when you combine these exercise types.

How to Declutter Your Mind in 7 Days Or Less

Do you sometimes or perhaps often feel your mind is filled with all this information, imprints and ideas and you simply can't find a way to create order or gain control over it again? When you experienced this as well, I can comfort you, most people are dealing with this, everyday.

I once read that the Saturday edition of the New York Times is filled with more information than a person had to cope with in their entire life many hundreds of years ago. If it is true... I don't know. I do know that one edition is filled with lots of information. It could be that the amount of written information is that which they had to deal with throughout their entire life.

We all have to deal with so much information. And there seems to be more information we have to cope with every day. So that is why I want to help you declutter your mind using some basic yet powerful steps. After 7 days, your mind will feel like never before. It will be decluttered!

First of all, you have to understand that your mind can handle much more information than you can consciously deal with right now. Your mind itself normally jumps around between all the various bits and pieces of information. You try to consciously manage everything. That is great... but also very exhausting.

The 'trick' is to focus. You have to start by creating an overview of the things your mind wants to focus on. This list or overview is your way of telling your brain you won't forget them. It also helps you to remember the items and literally puts them aside.

Once you did that, you identify the one item in your list that you want to focus your attention on. When you focus your attention, you mentally make this one item much larger than the rest. This automatically makes the rest smaller. When you notice your mind still gets drawn to another item in the list, check this item and continue your work.

The nice thing is... you create a list that shows you what your mind is concerned with the most (the one with the most checks nex! t to it) .

After checking the item, you go back to what you were doing. Do this all the time with this single item from your list until you complete it. At first, you will probably find this difficult. And that is totally normal. Your mind is trying to keep itself busy jumping from one thought to another.

You probably feel a change in the way you work and in your focus the very same day you start to use this technique.

After using it for 7 days, your mind will feel free and decluttered, simply because you deal with that what you must and want to focus on (and not what your mind likes to focus on).

When you enjoy this technique, I am sure you like more. The results will be amazing. Currently, the television is crowded with hordes of crime shows, but to reach the hundredth episode is not possible for all the shows. Devastating critique of Radha Soami Satsang Beas lies

Two words: read it

If you want to know what's wrong with spiritual-mystical-religious dogmas that spout lies about science in order to selfishly promote their own false teachings, read it.

If you want proof that one such organization, Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB), is devoid of intellectual honesty, respect for truth, and humility before the largely unexplained mystery of the cosmos, read it.

If you want to feel better about choosing science over religion, truthfulness over falsehoods, openness over closedmindedness, read it.

What I'm strongly urging you to read is a marvelous essay by David Christopher Lane and Andrea Diem-Lane, "Mysticism's Version of Intelligent Design: A Critique of John Davidson's Projective Creationism." Dadrea (every couple needs a twin-name these days) rip to shreds a book recently published by RSSB, which supposedly espouses a "science of the soul."

I found very little to criticize in this critique of Davidson's One Being One, aside from noting a few minor typos. I could have written it myself, if I was as knowledgeable about evolution and the scientific method as David and his wife are.

David and I both were involved with RSSB for a long time. We've come to similar conclusions about the emptiness of the religious claims RSSB and the organization's current guru, Gurinder Singh Dhillon, make about God, soul travel, reincarnation, salvation via a "perfect living guru," and such.

However, perusing reactions to a Yahoo Groups posting about Lane's critique, I can see that David remains more enthusiastic than I am about some aspects of the meditation approach taught by Radha Soami Satsang Beas. 

I've migrated to a quasi-Buddhist, quasi-Zen, quasi-mindfulness meditating.

But this reflects the beauty of a truly scientific view of reality. Whatever works trumps whatever a holy book or person says. David and I each have our opinions about what sort of meditation technique is the best. Yet if we want to elevate those opinions to be facts, we'd need to back them up with evidence.

After reading David and Andrea's critique, I feel like I may have been too soft toward Radha Soami Satsang Beas, and guru-worship in general. They tell it like it is: the organization lies; the RSSB guru lies; John Davidson lies.

It [is at] this point that any reasonable reader may reflect on why Davidson is being so dishonest and disingenuous about the vast array of evidence that the varying sciences have marshaled in support of evolution by natural selection. The answer, sadly enough, is too obvious: Davidson is a religious devotee who believes (apparently absolutely and apparently quite dogmatically) in the metaphysical theology of Radhasoami Beas and anything which upends his cherished belief system is open game, even if it means being duplicitous in his presentations of the "other" side.

...In assailing Darwinian evolution (but without mustering convincing evidence), Davidson on page 164 juxtaposes molecular biology with his own mystical theology, one where "behind all the physical processes lie the patterning processes of the formative mind, projecting subtle inner mental patterns into physical reality. This is all part of what some folk call the law of karma."

Does Davidson give us even a scant of evidence for this theory? No. So how does he know that his subtle mind theory is correct, especially in contradistinction to the plethora of evidences provided by the hard sciences? The answer again is a revealing one: because his religion says so and because he believes in the veridicality of meditational experiences.

Yet, what is so alarming, particularly in a book that wants to be taken seriously, is that Davidson doesn't once find even the tiniest fault or crack in his own theological superstructure. In this sense, he is no different than fundamentalist Christians or Muslims who take their respective holy books as inerrant. 

I'll add myself to the list: I've lied.

I wrote a book published by RSSB, "Life is Fair." Much of what I said in that book, I still stand behind. But I promulgated some falsehoods about evolution being guided by a cosmic intelligence, just as Davidson and RSSB have in One Being One.

The difference with me, though, is that I came to see through my own duplicity.

The contradiction between my love for science, and the hatred Radha Soami Satsang Beas has for certain scientific truths such as evolution, and it's disdain for the scientific method, eventually became too great. No longer could I profess a devotion for knowing ultimate reality, while ignoring evident facts that lay along the never-ending path of cosmic knowledge.

David and Andrea have done a tremendous service in describing so clearly why truth-seekers must embrace scientific openness, willingness to admit errors, and reliance on demonstrable evidence -- while shunning religious closed-mindedness, rigid dogmatism, and faith-based belief systems.

The more gray matter you have, the more altruistic you are

Researchers from the University of Zurich show that people who behave more altruistically than others have more gray matter at the junction between the parietal and temporal lobe, thus showing for the first time that there is a connection between brain anatomy, brain activity and altruistic behavior.

Why are some people very selfish and others very altruistic? Previous studies indicated that social categories like gender, income or education can hardly explain differences in altruistic behavior. Recent neuroscience studies have demonstrated that differences in brain structure might be linked to differences in personality traits and abilities. Now, for the first time, a team of researchers from the University of Zurich headed by Ernst Fehr, Director of the Department of Economics, show that there is a connection between brain anatomy and altruistic behavior.

To investigate whether differences in altruistic behavior have neurobiological causes, volunteers were to divide money between themselves and an anonymous other person. The participants always had the option of sacrificing a certain portion of the money for the benefit of the other person. Such a sacrifice can be deemed altruistic because it helps someone else at one's own expense. The researchers found major differences in this respect: Some participants were almost never willing to sacrifice money to benefit others while others behaved very altruistically.

More gray matter
The aim of the study, however, was to find out why there are such differences. Previous studies had shown that a certain region of the brain – the place where the parietal and temporal lobes meet – is linked to the ability to put oneself in someone else's shoes in order to understand their thoughts and feelings. Altruism is probably closely related to this ability. Consequently, the researchers suspected that individual differences in this part of the brain might be linked to differences in altruistic behavior. And, according to Yosuke Morishima, a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Economics at the University of Zurich, they were right: "People who behaved more altruistically also had a higher proportion of gray matter at the junction between the parietal and temporal lobes."

Differences in brain activity
The participants in the study also displayed marked differences in brain activity while they were deciding how to split up the money. In the case of selfish people, the small brain region behind the ear is already active when the cost of altruistic behavior is very low. In altruistic people, however, this brain region only becomes more active when the cost is very high. The brain region is thus activated especially strongly when people reach the limits of their willingness to behave altruistically. The reason, the researchers suspect, is that this is when there is the greatest need to overcome man's natural self-centeredness by activating this brain region.

Ernst Fehr adds: "These are exciting results for us. However, one should not jump to the conclusion that altruistic behavior is determined by biological factors alone." The volume of gray matter is also influenced by social processes. According to Fehr, the findings therefore raise the fascinating question as to whether it is possible to promote the development of brain regions that are important for altruistic behavior through appropriate training or social norms.

The English disease is often defined as `paedophilia`, which is `fear of development`. Society in England is based on the sole premise that every living high school leaver wants to have sex with small children. The solution is to present everyone as infants and teach them that sex is taboo, and the body is for eating and shitting only, which accords with the central principle of Sigmund Freud`s repression psychology. All products of human civilization and culture are `nothing but` shit, according to infantilism. Consequently, sexual repression becomes the norm and reproduction and development become what is feared, which emerges in society as `paedophilia`, which actually is `fear of development, and so of sexual reproduction. Masquerading in society as the perception that everyone wants to have sex with children and so should be prevented by explaining that shitting is what people are for, and the nihilists `kill two birds with one stone`, as it were. Interest in sex, as a developmental instinct that, in the psychology of Carl Gustav Jung, is transformed into spiritual and intellectual work, is `killed`, while product has been defined by Sigmund Freud, as `nothing but` shit and, because shit is produced from the anus, sexual activity has been directed there.

Anal is the basis of a society that has become nihilistic insofar as it`s producing infantiles that view shit as product, and so anal sex is productive of `nothing but` shit. The virus HIV/AIDS, as the child of the 20th century, is a virgin birth from an Anti-Christian `Black Mass` of anal sex, which is sterile and productive only of semen mixed with blood, shit, and urine, that is, a `seedbed` for HIV/AIDS. Nihilism is the result of practicing what God had condemned as long ago as Sodom (homosexuality) and Gomorrah (sadism), and infantilism is what the nihilists teach in order to prevent the paedophile, who is a child and wants to have sex with children (because developing children do want to have s! ex with each other), from developing beyond infantilism in which everything is anal and productive only of shit and HIV/AIDS.

The first step would be for a society, on the verge of nihilism, to stop deciding who is to have sex with who, so that it can decide to have sex with you, whether you want it to or not. In the Bible the `hidden` woman of Revelation leaves Earth to sow her own `seed` and her `seed` defeats the Anti-Christian `seed`. She is given a new heaven and Earth to dwell in forever while the evil receive perdition. In other words, God has decided that Woman, as a species with a p**is of her own, can decide who she has sex with for herself, and whether or not to. The clitoris is designed purely for pleasure, and masturbation of the p**is is pleasurable also, without vaginal insertion. Consequently, an immortal woman in heaven, who is futanarian with both vagina and p**is, would be virgin intacta should she choose to be and, if she didn`t, she wouldn`t have a man, according to God.

In the case of Madeleine McCann the young girl disappeared, which is equivalent, in infantile psychology, to her being eaten, because she was `nothing but` shit, which is what nihilist societies teach. On the understanding that sexual activity is wrong, they teach that eating and shitting is what we are for. Consequently, Madeleine McCann was either eaten, or shat, because the nihilist society has taught that the different activities amount to the same thing. In simple terms, if Madeleine McCann, as a product of the womb of God`s producer, that is, Woman, is definable as shit by a nihilist society encouraging her not to sexually or spiritually/intellectually develop, that is, remain infantile, then the nihilist infantiles created by the society, as the society observing that eating is what she`s for, will eat her. Or, in other words, being murdered was what the nihilist infantile society bred her for. The `New Redeemer` of Revelation is figured as the protector of the `hidden` woman of the Earth before she leav! es, whic h means that any woman that disappears from a society that views her as a murder victim to begin with either desires to escape from the nihilists, or is being helped to hide by a redeemer. In other words, Madeleine McCann is a symbol of the nihilistic infantiles pursuit of the chimera of their being believed. On the understanding that innocence is non-development, they maintain their `position` as nihilist jailors. Or, to put it another way, the developer is the enemy of the nihilist infantile society because the innocent can be wise enough to live if they develop. Jesus` teaching on the subject of Woman`s development is the simple command:

`Leave her alone.` (Mark: 14.6)

Because it`s clear to Jesus, born of a virgin and celibate, that women are born innocent and wise enough to live if they develop. No man was involved in the birth of Jesus, and Jesus didn`t fall into the trap of reproduction, but was more concerned with progress through self-development and teaching, that is, not the `black mass suckers` of the parasitical blood-sucking leeches that were his and others` crucifiers, but the individually productive geniuses that would arise to fight in Jesus` name as graduates.

As a `hidden` woman, Madeleine McCann is `disappeared`, that is, devoured, by her society`s nihilist infantile programmer s who don`t want development for women as the producers of shit they don`t want; such as futanarian women as a species with her own p**is and capacity for living outside of their purview. Either that, or Madeleine is living outside of their perverted view. In Revelation the red dragon waits in vain to devour the child of the woman `clothed with the sun, and with the moon at her feet`:

`A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet... the dragon stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth.` (Rev: 12. 1-4)

The woman who gives birth to the `New Redeemer` is protected by him until she`s ready to! leave t he Earth, so in effect she`s a child she gives birth to, that is, Self-Development, as the solution to the nihilist infantile reductivity of everything as `nothing but` devouring, shit, and sterile anal sex productive of `nothing but` HIV/AIDS and death. Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness (Matt: 4.1), whereas the `hidden` woman is there for 1,260 days, which suggests preparation for an even greater task. The Bible says the `devourer` waits in vain, which suggests that Woman as God`s producer, and her product, as that which comes from her womb, in terms of the development of her civilizations and cultures, can`t be `disappeared`. In Islamic countries, the belief is that Paradise, which corresponds to heaven on Earth, and is `Jennah` in Arabic, which also means `hidden`, is all around us. Consequently, Madeline McCann could be in `Jennah` or `hidden`, as are all who have `disappeared`. The search for Madeleine is, then, either the hunt for her would-be devourer, or the search for her hiding place,as a woman who, `hidden` like the woman of Revelation, has escaped from her imprisoners and is preparing to leave her imprisonment. In short, Madeleine McCann is an icon for the nihilist infantile who wants to find the `hidden` woman and kill her before she leaves Earth, and Madeleine`s 9 year old face from 2007 is a symbol of the nihilist infantile`s desire that women remain 9 years old as innocent victims of men`s enslaving of their host wombs so that men as parasites can continue to have the women give birth to themselves while the `leech jizz` pretend to be protective and Woman is expecting the `New Redeemer` to save her. In Jungian psychology the archetypes are images from the collective unconscious that, present in each of us, sometimes emerge into consciousness as developmental signs. One archetypal image would be Woman giving birth to the `New Redeemer while the devouring dragon, a symbol of men`s nihilist infantilism, can`t eat her, and she escapes. It`s an archetype of freedom through self-development! , and th e denial of those who`d develop Woman upon her Earth so that she can be devoured, which is what the history of the Earth is. Men are the dragon and women are supposed to escape from them, which is why the `New Redeemer` is Christ also. The Messiah is not an ordinary man.
