Beautiful Chinese Music【19】Traditional

紅樓夢"A Dream of Red Mansions" Also called "Story of the Stone (Shitouji 石頭記)", this novel written by Cao Xueqin 曹雪芹(1715--1763) is said to be the greatest masterpiece of Chinese fiction. A wide branched scholarship does not consent about the main theme of this novel, should it be a novel of sentiment, of Daoist-Buddhist enlightenment, of social observation, of the decay of an aristocratic familiy, or even a veiled attack on Manchu rule. The frame of the novel is the contest of a Buddhist and a Daoist priest who make be born a young noble boy called Jia Baoyu 賈寶玉and his girl cousin Lin Daiyu 林黛玉. With a loving detail describing the life of the two cousins in a huge noble mansion, between gardens and palaces, the red thread is the triangular love between Baoyu, Daiyu and a second girl cousin called Xue Baochai 薛寶釵that is of more plumper character than the ever sick Daiyu. Switching between their life, the divine world and dreams, Baoyu becomes deranged after the disappearance of a stone (the origin of the second title) he had in his mouth when he was born. Not knowing, his love Daiyu died, he is tricked to marrying Baochai. Becoming aware of being tricked, Baoyu leaves the world of the "red dust" and becomes a monk. With hundreds of persons and their stories, paralleling the life and feelings of servants to the life of the main persons, the story is very complex and full of symbolisms, but very interesting and convincing for its encyclopedic character ...

For any type of yoga exercise program, yoga mats are designed to help you practice the different movements and poses that you would perform during your workouts.

The various positions that you might have to employ involve standing up, bending over, getting on all fours, balancing on one foot, and more. These can be difficult to do if you do not have an even surface to perform them on, especially for the different poses that require you to balance for a length of time. Yoga mats, in addition to being resistant and resilient, are designed to provide cushioning for your body. That way, it will be easier for you to perform these different positions.

There are a wide range of products that you can find in relation to yoga mats. Some provide more cushion than others, if that is what you would prefer. You can also find some made with organic ! material s, such as natural rubber made from rubber trees. They also come in various lengths, widths, and thickness. This is in order to accommodate the wide range of people's body sizes and preferences. Somebody who is taller would probably need a longer and wider mat than somebody who is shorter. They also come in a variety of colors. Therefore, it should be easy to find a yoga mat that fits your particular needs and preferences.

Yoga in the West

Article by yoga for man

While many people in the West are only now discovering yoga, knowledge of yoga inthe West is not new. In the late 18th century, interest in Sanskrit grew as scholars began tounderstand the importance and interconnectedness of the Indo-European family of languages. The Bhagavad Gita was the first Sanskrit text to be translated into English--in1785 by the Englishman Charles Wilkins. American statesman Alexander Hamilton visitedIndia, and even gave Sanskrit lessons in Paris, when he was detained there duringwartime in 1802.3The transcendentalist movement was influenced by Eastern thought. By the early 19thcentury, the teachings of the ancient Hindu texts that form the basis of yoga were becomingknown to Westerners through the influential work of such intellectuals and writers asHenry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson. The work of American and EuropeanRomantic artists also resonated with the essence of yoga thought. What seems to have done the most to bring yoga into popular awareness, however, hasbeen a cross-fertilization of knowledge about India and its sacred traditions that beganmore recently when a number of master teachers, or gurus, came from India to the Westwith the professed aim of bringing the ancient teachings of India to Western nations. Firstamong these was Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902), who gained prominence through hispresence at the World's Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893. One of the mostinfluential of the Indian gurus was Parmahansa Yogananda (1893-1952), who was sent byhis revered master to bring the teachings of yoga to the West in 1920, when he attended acongress of world religions in Boston. In that same year, Parmahansa Yogananda foundedthe Self-Realization Fellowship, an organization through which he initiated thousands ofWesterners into yoga. His Autobiography of a Yogi remains one of the most widely read bookson yoga throughout the world today. Since these two pioneers, a number of other influentialteachers have brought their particular focus on yoga to the! West, i ncluding, mostnotably, B.K.S. Iyengar (founder of Iyengar Yoga), Swami Rama (the Himalayan Institute),Swami Satchidananda (Integral Yoga), and Swami Vishnu-devananda (Sivananda Yoga). The transmission of knowledge of yoga is a two-way avenue, however. Because knowledgeabout yoga has become more widely available in the West, increasingly large numbersof Americans and Europeans are traveling to India to seek instruction firsthand in theancient practices of yoga. Ram Dass was one of the first and best-known Westerners toforgo the creature comforts of the West to sit at the feet of a guru in India. He distilledthe essence of what he learned in the title of his groundbreaking book Be Here Now. SinceRam Dass's pilgrimage, countless other Americans have followed a similar path.

Working In A Garden Is Very Relaxing

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 08:00 AM PDT

Article by Steinharter Bierly

You certainly know why people love gardening, when you have one, or had one in the past. If you have ever wanted a garden, but never got around to it, you could start one now. You can always start small, and try growing a few items and your confidence and knowledge will expand quickly. If you don't know why you should want a garden, here are a few of the main benefits.

One of the best reasons to garden is that it's a great way to relax and let go of stress. There's a lot of stress in the modern world, and one of the best ways to become oblivious to your worries is to get busy in your garden. While all of your problems won't magically disappear, there's something about being in nature and the feel of the earth that makes you feel more centered. Frustrating problems and situations are focused on when we're stressed due to us being too much in our heads. We can focus all of our energy in a positive way thanks to gardening as it's a very practical and physical activity. Being in your garden can certainly be a refuge from the stresses of life, even if you can only be in it a few hours per week. It is virtually impossible to get every type of vegetable that you want throughout the year, unless of course you grow them yourself. You can pick the type of garden you want to grow once you have decided to grow one. It is nice to know if you grow your own food, not only will it tastes better, but it will be more nutritious for you. Depending upon the type of climate that you have, if you are flexible, you will be rewarded. Specifically, the climate that you are in will play a role in the success of your garden. It is still very possible, and the right climate, to do very well with the garden. If you're creative, you can grow just about anything no matter where you live, although you have to work a little harder if the plant or flower isn't native to your region. If you want to simply grow the flowers and vegetables that you love, simply begin growing a garden and see what shows up.

Gardening, espec! ially or ganic gardening has quite a few environmental benefits. To begin with, when you grow your own food you aren't contributing toward the use of fossil fuels used to transport things, like you would be when buying store bought food. In many cases, some of the foods that are most basic from stores can be shipped from thousands of miles away. So anytime you grow something yourself, you're saving energy. It's also beneficial to the soil when you garden, as you have to keep it well nourished. The amount of waste your household produces can be reduced by making compost out of both your leftovers and kitchen scraps. Gardening is an activity that almost always has a beneficial impact on the environment, as long as you don't use harsh chemicals or pesticides. Although we have gone over several things about gardening in this article, there are many more to learn about. By doing this, you can become healthier, have a clear mind, and have healthy food. Gardening is a fun thing to do - you should start one this week.

The substance of the universe

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 07:00 AM PDT

The Sanskrit term for the absolute substance is tathatâ which is often translated by 'suchness'.  Modern Buddhist Spiritualitys, at times, seem to be running away from the fact that Buddhism has a unique substance theory that is verified with the attainment of absolute Bodhicitta which only happens through meditation (dhyana).

With the attainment of absolute Bodhicitta, this substance is realized to be the stuff from which everything is composed including our thoughts.  In itself, it is completely empty and indeterminate but nevertheless real and dynamic.  But this is also the very nature of pure Mind which, when beheld, is Bodhicitta.

"For example, he [Buddhaguhya] defines emptiness (shunyata) as suchness (tathata) and says that suchness is the intrinsic nature (svabhava) of the mind which is Enlightenment (bodhicitta)" (Stephen Hodge, The Maha-Vairocana-Abhisambodhi Tantra: With Buddhaguhya's Commentary, 32).

Along this same line the Mahayanasraddhotpadasastra (lit. Awakening of Faith Treatise) says the following:

"The revelation of the true meaning [of the principle of Mahayana can be achieved] by [unfolding the doctrine] that the principle of One Mind has two aspects.  One is the aspect of Mind in terms of the Absolute (tathata; Suchness), and the other is the aspect of Mind in terms of phenomena (samsâra; birth and death).  Each of these two aspects embraces all states of existence.  Why? Because these two aspects are mutually inclusive."

Turning to emptiness the Mahayanasraddhotpadasastra says:

"[Suchness is empty] because from the beginning it has never been related to any defiled states of existence, it is free from all marks of individual distinctions of things, and it has nothing to do with thoughts conceived by a deluded mind."

And with regard to the nonempty it says:

"Since it has been made clear that the essence of all things is empty, i.e., devoid of illusions, the true Mind is eternal, permanent, immutable, pure, and self-sufficient; therefore, it is called "nonempty."  And also there is no trace of particular marks to be noted in it, as it is the sphere that transcends thoughts and is in harmony with enlightenment alone."

I hope the reader can see that at a very practical, down to earth level, we intuit this substance at the precise moment our temporal thoughts have, briefly, stopped.  It is like looking at a pond with ripples caused by the wind. Then suddenly the wind stops.  We see the water as it is without it being disturbed by the wind.  For the Zennist the universe stops for a split second.  We've arrived at tathatâ or the same, pure Mind.

Controlled Senses and A Krishna Conscious Diet

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 06:00 AM PDT

Article by Victor Epand

A devotee realizes that the source of his miseries in this world, the senses, can also be the cause of his liberation and perfection in Krishna consciousness. Generally it is thought that sense control means severe austerity or joyless puritanism, but there is no need to negate the senses or ignore the senses in Krishna consciousness. One simply has to engage the senses in Krishna's service, recognizing that Krishna is the proprietor of the senses.

The spiritual master and the Vedic literatures guide the devotee in engaging his senses in the Lord's service. When the senses are thus utilized, they regain their original spiritual nature and the devotee can be said to be enjoying them.

If we understand our bodies to be temples of God and our senses to be His property, then we can engage them happily in Krishna's service.

The ears are engaged in hearing about the Lord. The eyes are engaged in seeing the beautiful form of the Lord. The nose can be engaged in smelling the flowers offered to Krishna. The hands (touch) can be engaged in working for Krishna and touching the lotus feet of Krishna and His devotees. The tongue can be engaged in tasting food offered to Krishna, and speaking about Him. Finally, the mind, the sixth sense, can be engaged in thinking of Krishna's names, activities, forms, qualities, and service. All the senses thus become a source of great happiness for a devotee.

A Krishna Conscious Diet. Krishna states in the Bhagavad-gita that whatever one eats, one should offer to Him first, before partaking of it. If one neglects this injunction, one is verily eating only sin. This means that there will be a karmic reaction for eating any type of food-even food in the mode of goodness-unless the food is first offered to God as a sacrifice.

Krishna is a person and has personal likes and dislikes. There are certain foods that He considers acceptable, such as fruits, vegetables, grains, and milk products. If we want Krishna to accept our offering, it is necessary to! confine ourselves to the groups of foods that He will accept, otherwise the offering will be in vain-He will reject it.

The attitude in which one offers the foodstuffs to Krishna is most important. Krishna states that one should offer the food with love and devotion. This means that one should make the offering and do the cooking with the idea of preparing the food for the pleasure of Krishna.

A Krishna conscious person prepares the food in a clean place, never tasting the. preparations before they are offered. He uses the authorized ingredients. When he is finished with the preparation, he puts a sample of each dish on a special plate that is used only for Krishna's eating. Placing this dish on the altar before Krishna, he prays with devotion for the Lord to accept his humble presentation. After this offering, the plate is cleansed and put away. Then the devotee partakes of the Lord's remnants, and is purified by doing so.

Bikram Yoga

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 03:00 AM PDT

Article by yoga meditator

Bikram Yoga, also known as Hot Yoga was created and developed by Bikram Choudhury, the self-proclaimed Yogi to the Stars. Bikram Yoga is practiced in a room heated to 105°F (40.5°C) with a humidity of 40%. The students are guided with dialogue whilst posing in 26 unique postures complete with two breathing exercises. Each class last about hour an a half. It is a beginners course, so everyone practices together.

Hatha Yoga is a particular system of Yoga described by Yogi Swatmarama, a yogic sage of the 15th century in India, and compiler of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Hatha Yoga is a development of -- but also differs substantially from -- the Raja Yoga of Patanjali, in that it focuses on shatkarma, the purification of the physical as leading to the purification of the mind (ha), and prana, or vital energy (tha).[46][47] In contrast, the Raja Yoga posited by Patanjali begins with a purification of the mind (yamas) and spirit (niyamas), then comes to the body via asana (body postures) and pranayama (breath). Hatha yoga contains substantial tantric influence,[48][49] and marks the first point at which chakras and kundalini were introduced into the yogic canon. Compared to the seated asanas of Patanjali's Raja yoga which were seen largely as a means of preparing for meditation, it also marks the development of asanas as full body 'postures' in the modern sense.[50]

Hatha Yoga in its many modern variations is the style that most people actually associate with the word "Yoga" today.[51] Because its emphasis is on the body through asana and pranayama practice, many western students are satisfied with the physical health and vitality it develops and are not interested in the other six limbs of the complete Hatha yoga teaching, or with the even older Raja Yoga tradition it is based on.

Innovative Weight Reduction Is Just A Few Superb Advice Away!

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 02:00 AM PDT

Article by Harry88

So you have decided that it is time to eat healthy. The only thing you know is that it's hard to change something that you have been doing all your life. The tips that you will find in this article will help you lead a nutritious life and to keep with it.

If you eat meats, choose lean meats over fatty meats. Fatty meats have higher calories from fat, which make them harder to turn into proteins. Also, be sure to make meat not the major component of a meal as it has higher calories than most fruits, veggies and complex carbohydrates.

Put a lot of fiber in your diet. Foods with a lot of fiber in them such as nuts and whole-grains are great. Because the fiber takes a long time to break down in the body, you feel full for longer than with other foods. This way you won't have cravings for junk food as often.

Soybeans are practically miraculous in their nutritional value. They contain a moderate amount of carbohydrates, lots of good protein, and just enough fat to help you absorb the good phytochemicals like isoflavones and the omega-3 fatty acids. Eating more protein in the form of soy products will also help you avoid saturated fats and cholesterol.

Make sure you are getting plenty of fiber every day. Foods such as fruits and vegetables are high in fiber, as well as brown rice and whole grain pasta, cereals, and breads. If you feel that you can't get the recommended 20 to 25 grams a day, take a fiber supplement. They come in many forms including capsules, tablets, and powders to mix with liquid.

Sneak more vegetables in your breakfast to increase your vitamin intake. There are several easy ways to do this, such as adding bell peppers to your omelette or sneaking spinach and carrots to your morning smoothie. You can also blend a small mix of vegetables together and mix them in your orange juice. More vegetables means a more healthy you!

When eating a salad you should avoid all of the unnecessary accouterments. Egg yolks, croutons, fried tortillas and even bacon bits ! serve no purpose to a salad other than to make it unhealthy. Egg whites, low fat cheese and citrus juices can give a salad an extra kick without making it unhealthy.

We eat vegetables both cooked and raw. Which is better? Raw vegetables have their advocates. But current studies show that most vegetables have higher nutritional value and are more digestible when cooked. Carrots and cabbage are tasty eaten raw, but many vegetables are palatable only when cooked. Steaming is the best method to retain food value.

Lower your sodium intake by flavoring foods with herbs and spices, rather than salt. By using fresh herbs in everything from sandwiches to vegetables to eggs, you can amp up the flavor without the negative health effects of sodium. Herbs are simple to grow on your kitchen windowsill or porch and therefore, can be easily accessible whenever you need them.

Using cream in recipes may make your food taste really good and rich, but it will also make your waistline expand. Try substituting the cream with silken tofu. It still has the creamy texture, but it offers other benefits such as some extra protein into your favorite home-cooked meals.

Rice is one of the most convenient foods that you can have, as it is very easy to make and goes with a wide variety of foods. Instead of white rice, choose brown rice, as it is healthier for your body and contains a lower level of fat content upon consumption.

Get restful sleep and drink less alcohol daily. These factors can actually make your face oilier and make your pores much bigger. Bigger pores allow for more dirt and infections which create pimples. You should sleep a minimum of 7 hours a night and have 1 glass of alcohol or less.

When concerned with what liquids to drink, you will find that water is perfectly satisfying for your nutrition needs. You should definitely avoid sugary soda drinks. You can find fortified water that contains vitamins to be a great alternative. Because of water and these vitamin drinks, you will not be spik! ing your system with sugar and excessive calories. This will help you become healthier.

Oranges are a great fruit that you can eat in the morning for its high content of vitamin C. This is a beneficial option, as it can improve the energy that you have during the day and reduce stress and anxiety. Oranges can help your acne and improve the tone of your face.

As you can see with these tips, switching over to a nutritious lifestyle is not as hard as it first seems. With the simple ideas presented in this article, you will be able to live a healthy and nutritious life. So no matter what kinds of foods you were eating before, if you follow these tips, you will succeed.

How Meditation Boosts Your Health

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 01:00 AM PDT

Article by Marc Courtiol

Anyone who has seriously tried meditation knows that it can be beneficial in a number of ways, but these benefits are not always easy to pinpoint. According to Buddhist thought, it is wrong to meditate specifically to benefit oneself, and practitioners are taught not to have goals in mind during meditation, as goals keep you from getting a clear mind. Yet even though we are taught not to look for benefits of meditation, there is no denying that they are there. People who meditate daily feel calmer, more driven, and more ready to handle the ups and downs of life. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging this.

Muddying the waters even further is a recent UCLA study finding that meditation has measurable benefits for brain health. When you add this to the mental and physical health effects that meditators already know about, this simple practice becomes essential to any naturally healthy lifestyle.

Brain healthThe findings of the UCLA study are simple: Meditation helps foster white-matter fiber cells in the brain. These are cells that aid in all-around mental functioning, including everyday cognitive processes. While these fibers tend to wear down as we age, they can be preserved through good health and, as the study finds, meditation.

But it is not only that meditation prevents cognitive decline. It also encourages growth of the brain cells, which are notoriously stubborn to regenerate. So if you feel your mind growing more sluggish with age and are worried that it is all downhill from here, try meditation. If you do it properly and keep the daily habit going for the long term, you should eventually begin to notice a sharpening of your mental faculties and an overall greater clarity of mind.

Mental healthBut where meditation really does its heavy lifting is in the mental health realm. Unfortunately, too many people in today's fast-paced world neglect to take time away from the stressors and the overactive through processes that keep us going all day long. Meditation gives yo! u the ch ance to take a break from all these thoughts. Any time you feel stress, taking some time away to quiet your mind is the best way to calm yourself down and refresh your mind. Afterwards, you return to your normal life with a new outlook.

And meditation does more than just reduce stress. It also produces a general sense of well being that can carry into all aspects of life. While people with serious clinical depression often need more serious treatment than meditation on its own, meditation in addition to other measures can go a long way toward fighting depression, anxiety, and self-defeating thoughts. It is not exactly an antidepressant, but the clarity meditation lends to your life helps put all the good and bad things into perspective.

Physical healthOften understated is meditation's positive effects on one's physical health. It is not as physically beneficial as yoga or other types of exercise, but the simple act of sitting with a strong posture for a stretch of time does help strengthen the spine and neck muscles. Meanwhile, many meditators make an effort to carry their meditation posture into the rest of their lives, and good posture has considerable health and mood benefits.

At the same time, it is believed throughout the natural health community that meditation goes great along with all types of health treatments. For example, if you are undergoing physical therapy or treatment for an illness, meditation can help your body's systems run smoothly, which helps you recover more quickly. Also, by reducing stress and improving your mental and brain health, meditation gives a boost to your immune system and helps encourage you to live healthfully in other aspects of life.

Yoga and Back Pain Part 4

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 12:00 AM PDT

Article by Glen Wood - The Yoga Teacher

Conclusion

One of the major concerns with acute back pain injuries is the prevention of the injury becoming a long term one, with all the individual, social and healthcare costs that chronic conditions incur.

By setting up a programme of regular yoga practice your body will get stronger, more flexible and your immune system will be enhanced. You will feel better as the endorphins kick in.

How much pain do you need to go through before you say "I have had enough of this pain, I am now going to change the way I am doing things to make my life better"? Or you have a "aha" moment when you see the light coming on which makes sense to you and you will change. It is usually the former; we get into our comfort zones (although it may be painful) and are reluctant to change until we have had enough.

The dividends and benefits are numerous, so mush so that care homes and the like have introduced some form of exercise (yoga) to help the elderly. Much research has shown that when the elderly have a fall their recovery is much quicker when practicing yoga. Their quality of life seems to be better as well.

Yoga is a way of exercising your body, healing your body, meditating, relaxing your mind, re-connecting with the universe, and yourself. Yoga is the best thing in the world for aging bodies. Yoga is not about how flexible you are; it is about stretching your body and spine.

A complete science, Yoga is a way of life, an integrated education system that teaches the mind, body and inner spirit to coexist in harmony, originating in India, it's teachings can be traced back to over 5,000 thousand years ago. "Yoga is a way of moving into stillness in order to experience the truth of who you are. In simple terms, however, Yoga is best thought of as a system for improving the holistic wellbeing of an individual.

It is important to note that although it evolved in the Hindu society of India, Yoga is not a religious system and can be practiced without compromising your specifi! c religi ous beliefs (or indeed without any religious belief whatsoever). Any Yoga is better than no Yoga, and 20 to 30 minutes a day is better than 90 minutes once a week. I believe that yoga is for everyone and it is my goal to pass on the ancient knowledge of yoga to my students, so they can experience the true spirit of yoga and begin to integrate some of this wisdom into their lives.

If you really want a traditional Buddhist Sri Lankan Wedding, you will need certain things in terms of decoration, but also in terms of performers. The Poruwa décor you will need includes:

Om Mani Padme Hum - Mantra of Compassion

thegic.org Mantra of Compassion - Om MANI PEDME HUN Tibetan Buddhists believe that saying the mantra (prayer), Om Mani Padme Hum, out loud or silently to oneself, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion. Viewing the written form of the mantra is said to have the same effect -- it is often carved into stones and placed where people can see them. Spinning the written form of the mantra around in a Mani wheel (or prayer wheel) is also believed to give the same benefit as saying the mantra, and Mani wheels, small hand wheels and large wheels with millions of copies of the mantra inside, are found everywhere in the lands influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. The Prayer Wheel Spiritual Technology from Tibet It is said that all the teachings of the Buddha are contained in this mantra: Om Mani Padme Hum can not really be translated into a simple phrase or sentence. It is appropriate, though, to say a little about the mantra, so that people who want to use it in their meditation practice will have some sense of what they are doing, and people who are just curious will understand a little better what the mantra is and why it is so important to Tibetan Buddhists.

Inventive Weight Reduction Is Just A Few Sound Advice Away!

Posted: 02 Jun 2012 10:00 PM PDT

Article by Harry88

Your spouse, your kids, your parents or yourself, it doesn't matter who you do it for, you just have to do it. Making changes to your lifestyle and body to give yourself the body and health you desire will be simple after you read this article and put it's knowledge to use.

Find a good workout partner. Ideally, you should find a partner that is as motivated as you are, or even more so. You can motivate each other. It is also advisable to pick a partner with roughly the same strength as you. If you pick stronger or more experienced than you are, you may find yourself getting frustrated.

Once in a while, you should replace your usual training routine by a completely different workout. Go out for a jog or head out to the local swimming pool, for instance. You will notice how much easier these activities have become for you, and this will help you stay motivated.

Consume more calories each and every day. If you are trying to gain some muscle weight, you will need to be eating more. Make sure these calories come from healthy foods, do not allow yourself to fill up only on junk, it will not help you out at all.

Make sure you are getting enough protein. The ideal diet for muscle building contains one gram of protein for every pound of your body weight every day. For most people, this can be achieved through diet alone, and protein supplementation is not usually necessary. Supplementing your daily protein consumption beyond this will usually yield no benefit.

You should completely exert yourself when performing weight lifting exercises in order to maximize your muscle gain results. Do this by forcing yourself to keep doing one more repetition until you absolutely cannot. This sends a clear signal to your body that you need more muscle. Remember to get help from a spotter so that you do not suddenly drop the weight when you are finished.

The "rest pause" method can help you power on to the end of an exercise that challenges you. Simply take a brief break (no more than te! n to 20 seconds) in the relaxed part of the exercise. Remain in position and gather the stamina you need to pump out three or four more reps instead of giving up.

Utilize a power rack in order to prevent a barbell from crushing you while doing a large squat. Lots of squat racks contain pins that can be set below the maximum squatting depth. If you reach failure on a rep, you can just allow the weight to drop onto these safety pins. Therefore, you don't have to worry about lifting more than you are capable of.

Use visualization exercises to picture what you need to do to reach your goals. Having vague, undefined goals with no real sense of how to accomplish them is a sure road to failure. Picture yourself sticking to your workout routine and visualize what you will look like in the future. This will keep you motivated.

Make use of your own body when you are working out. Bodyweight exercises, which include push-ups, pull-ups, lunges, and dips, can cause you to experience additional muscle and strength gains. Because of this, these types of exercises are a very important component of a solid workout program, and they should be included.

Always try to mix up your workouts when trying to build muscle mass. Every few weeks completely change your routine and throw your body off course. Your body will grow much faster when you change the routine and catch it off guard. This will keep your workouts interesting, and also build muscle.

Make sure that workouts never exceed one hour in length. After you have worked out for sixty minutes, your body starts to produce a stress hormone called cortisol. Cortisol blocks testosterone, which can ruin your muscle gaining efforts. Making sure that workouts are less than an hour helps you to get the best results.

When building muscle it is important to be sure that you are giving your body enough fuel throughout the day. You need to up your caloric intake if you want to be able to build muscle and burn as much fat as humanly possible. It is important! to lear n which foods are best for repairing muscle fibers.

You have an overwhelming selection of workout machines or programs for you to try. It is sometimes easy to forget that not all methods are effective for all goals or all athletes.Building muscles it's easily accomplished when you customize a routine and stick with it. There are many options for building muscles. Do your research and investigate the best workout tools and techniques to get the look that you want. You may even have a workout friend that can help you increase your result.

Whether it's to look or feel good, changing your body is also a key part of staying on top of your health. If you want to live a long, happy life with your loved ones, building muscle and staying in shape will help you achieve your goals, so use what you've read here to change your life.

God isn't happy with deeply religious Americans

Posted: 02 Jun 2012 10:00 PM PDT

I had a conversation with God today. I'm sure of it. Just as sure, at least, as so many other prophets, gurus, masters, and other purported communicators with the divine have been.

In my case, a godly voice didn't come out of a burning bush. It was more intimate than that: God spoke to me from right inside my own head, which makes it difficult for me to doubt a divine encounter that was so direct.

Below you'll learn what God commanded me to preach.

Be warned, God has a foul mouth. He doesn't mince words when he's seriously pissed. And believe me, He is. Given his omniscience, God was right on top of yesterday's Gallup poll news release.

PRINCETON, NJ -- Forty-six percent of Americans believe in the creationist view that God created humans in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years. The prevalence of this creationist view of the origin of humans is essentially unchanged from 30 years ago, when Gallup first asked the question. About a third of Americans believe that humans evolved, but with God's guidance; 15% say humans evolved, but that God had no part in the process.

...The Most Religious Americans Are Most Likely to Be Creationists

Gallup's question wording explicitly frames the three alternatives in terms of God's involvement in the process of human development, making it less than surprising to find that the more religious the American, the more likely he or she is to choose the creationist viewpoint.

...Two-thirds of Americans who attend religious services weekly choose the creationist alternative, compared with 25% of those who say they seldom or never attend church. The views of Americans who attend almost every week or monthly fall in between those of the other two groups. Still, those who seldom or never attend church are more likely to believe that God guided the evolutionary process than to believe that humans evolved with no input from God.

Time to tell you what God thinks about this. Here's what God told me, verbatim.

You fucking religious idiots! You're going to hell. Count on it! Sins I can forgive; willful idiocy, no way. And the disrespect... outrageous. I went to a goddamn lot of trouble to leave you with enough smarts to figure out what the cosmos is all about.

And now a freaking two-thirds of the bozos who attend religious services weekly say, to hell with the knowledge God has given us, we believe in a made-up story book. Unbelievable. The Bible is chock full of bullshit, which you assholes suck like candy, while you ignore the obvious evidence I left for you.

Hello! Heaven to Earth... is anybody religious listening? Are only my dearly beloved scientists paying attention to my reality?

The Big Bang. Galaxy formation. Supernovas. Life arising on Earth. Evolution. For fourteen billion years I've been waiting for intelligent beings to pop up in your universe who could get a glimpse into how their popping-up happened.

I was looking forward to listening in on more expressions of wonder than I'm getting from religious Americans. Instead of Wow, so that's how God's cosmos is put together! I'm hearing I believe in the Bible, so God created humans just as they are today in the past 10,000 years.

Wrong, wrong, wrong! Super fucking wrong!

So wrong, I'm going to enjoy putting every idiot who chooses the fantasy of creationism over the facts of the cosmos into Scientific Hell after they die. Maybe listening to the same lecture about evolution over and over non-stop for a couple of billion years will drive some sense into their God-empty religious consciousnesses.

And don't get me started about other head-in-the-sand stuff that makes me just as mad. Global warming and species extinctions for example. Hey, humans, you're supposed to take care of the Earth you're on, not trash it!

I'm glad I decided to have a cosmos with a multiverse, which the scientifically savvy among you are starting to see some clues about. There's plenty of other places where intelligence has evolved to understand facts clearly.

Hopefully those deeply religious asswipes on your planet will see God's light eventually. Thanks for listening to my rant, Brian. I've chosen you to pass on my words through your blog. Appreciate it.

The churchless are my favorite humans. They aren't blinded by religious crap which smears up their vision of my cosmos.

So there you are. A message from God. Believe it. Along with unguided evolution over hundreds of millions of years.

If the Gallup poll creationist trendline doesn't start changing in a more scientific direction soon, God is going to get even more pissed off.

Implications

Despite the many changes that have taken place in American society and culture over the past 30 years, including new discoveries in biological and social science, there has been virtually no sustained change in Americans' views of the origin of the human species since 1982. The 46% of Americans who today believe that God created humans in their present form within the last 10,000 years is little changed from the 44% who believed this 30 years ago, when Gallup first asked the question.

More broadly, some 78% of Americans today believe that God had a hand in the development of humans in some way, just slightly less than the percentage who felt this way 30 years ago.

All in all, there is no evidence in this trend of a substantial movement toward a secular viewpoint on human origins.

Most Americans are not scientists, of course, and cannot be expected to understand all of the latest evidence and competing viewpoints on the development of the human species. Still, it would be hard to dispute that most scientists who study humans agree that the species evolved over millions of years, and that relatively few scientists believe that humans began in their current form only 10,000 years ago without the benefit of evolution. Thus, almost half of Americans today hold a belief, at least as measured by this question wording, that is at odds with the preponderance of the scientific literature.

Meditation

Article by Sanki Linkon

Meditation may appear very simple to some one who is yet to begin with the art but, can be quite challenging when attempted for real. The peace and serenity that we usually see surrounding someone who is in the process of deep meditation, does not come in a day's time. It takes years and years of dedication and practice to reach a certain level wherefrom the real benefits of meditation or, dhyan can be experienced. Meditation for beginners particularly, can be very difficult. Sitting down quietly is an otherwise difficult task, and this is precisely what meditation requires as its very first requisite.A number of external factors ensure how effective the practice of meditation and its effects will be in the coming days for a learner. While it is true that meditation has got to do everything with the 'inside' of a human being, the external factors should not be neglected as it matters to every bit, as far as Meditation For Beginners is concerned. We may have come across numerous examples of Yogis who could continue with meditation irrespective of weather conditions (heat, cold, thunderstorms snow etc), but, all this could have been possible hundreds of years ago when people used to actually dedicate themselves to the art and reach levels of expertise that people of the present times can only dream of. Therefore, it is only for the benefit of the present day beginners to ensure the prerequisites before attempting practice of meditation of any sort.Area Of Practice:Meditation should be practiced in an area that is quiet and has a sense of tranquility surrounding it. Whether you have chosen yoga for meditation, or, any other form, the area of practice can have a massive effect on how you develop in the art. Cleanliness of the area of practice is a must and should not be compromised with. you can never accomplish true meditation if you have been practicing in a dirty, odorous, pest ridden, clammy, noisy and overall, polluted surrounding. Avoiding severe weather conditions like rain, excessive heat, chi! ll, stor ms etc is wise. You may be able to sit quietly tolerating these extremes, but 'meditation' per se, will not happen. Whether indoors or, outdoors, ascertaining that the area for practice is right for meditation will go a long way into getting you the true benefit of the practice.Cessation Of Thoughts:This is easier said than done. Thoughts are the intangible phenomena that keeps occurring within the human mind voluntarily and involuntarily. Thoughts of either of the sort must be ignored while meditating. Conscious or, constructive thinking should be consciously avoided. On the other hand, the involuntary or, unconscious thinking (that are thoughts that just keep floating into the mind without any conscious effort from the person) should be overlooked. Dwelling on thoughts while sitting in meditative posture is as good as not meditating at all. True meditation happens when all conscious and unconscious thoughts depart from a human mind. One must allow that to happen. This may take years to master, but with proper practice, it is sure to happen at least to a certain extent.

Spiritually Preparing For Gospel Piano Lessons

Posted: 02 Jun 2012 06:00 PM PDT

Article by Brian Shelton

If you've ever listened to blues music and jazz piano, then you must have noticed the similarities that both genres share with black gospel piano lessons. Quite often, the most significant difference between gospel piano and blues or jazz is the tempo, pitch or chords! We don't mean to suggest that these genres are exactly alike however. We mean to instead, underscore that the philosophies or motivations behind these styles are alike and they contribute to their resemblances.

Gospel piano shares deep roots with blues and jazz in that it originated from a desire to break from existing styles -- styles that bore strong classical and patriotic American themes. It differs from blues and jazz however because of its spiritual and historical connotations. In the far past, gospel piano accompanied lyrics that both (1) worshipped and (2) instructed slaves out of slavery.

Gospel May Indicate A Greater Significance

This gives gospel music a greater significance for specific groups of people and as a gospel pianist, you'll need to prepare yourself for this importance. With traditional piano, lesson preparation usually entails little more than a few finger exercises and a strong desire to learn. With gospel piano, lesson preparation may necessitate prayer, meditation, or any other type of exercise that's relaxing.

The Gospel Pianist's Role

This is because the gospel pianist is put into an important position. On one hand, he is a musician. On the other hand, he is a deliverer. The gospel pianist's role is to deliver his audience into a higher state of consciousness so that it may reach a spiritual awareness or recognizing. As a vehicle of this distribution, the gospel pianist must also deliver the right rhythms and tones that will enable a divine transformation. Pianists who are tense, nervous, or unsure about playing the piano can not adequately facilitate this transference.

Understanding The Role Is Essential To Preparation

Understanding the important role of the gosp! el piani st then is essential to preparation. To fulfill this role, some go to the length of getting a spiritual cleansing before they play. Others will pray over the instrument and its music, while others may participate in a group meditation. We can not tell you in good faith what is extreme and what isn't because the perspectives vary. What's adequate preparation to one gospel pianist is extreme to the other (and vice versa).

So the most important thing that you can do is recognize your role as a spiritual administrator and then find a comfortable method of fulfilling that role. Every external event -- whether positive or negative -- can influence the way that you learn and play the music. Stress factors will not only work against you and cause frustration, they'll also prevent you from absorbing the messages that your lessons try to teach.

The Dogon Speak to Humanity - The justBernard Show

thegic.org http www.bluestarprophecy.com The enigmatic Dogon tribe of Mali, West Africa, are a wonderous study in ancient knowledge and wisdom. They are fairly reclusive and did not have contact with Europeans until quite late in the exploration time-line. An amazing fact regarding the Dogon people is that their ancient oral traditions have always held the knowledge that the Dog-Star, Sirius was a binary system which was not discovered by astronomers until fairly recently. Much like the ancient Summerians, they tell of visitations by extra-terrestrial beings who gave them this knowledge eons ago! On August 15 the Dogon spoke to humanity on GIC Radio. Bikbaye Inejnema and Naba Iritah Shenmira have come forward as instructed by their elders to share a message with the world. Dr. Bernard Alvarez DM (Executive Director of the Global Illumination Council) and Yvonne Wykes (Executive Administrator of the GIC) were joined by them for a 2 hour event to awaken the spirit. Bickbaye Inejnema Bikbaye Inejnema has followed in the footsteps of the ancestors of the Pharaoh's of ancient Egypt when he was initiated into the Dogon/Kemetic way of life. He became a dedicated student with Master Naba Lamoussa Mordenibig, an authentic Dogon/Ancient Egyptian high priest and healer of Burkino Faso, West Africa, in the mid 90's. Bikbaye was taught how to read, write and speak the Medu Neter (Hieroglyphic writing of ancient Egypt) along with having deep understanding of its spiritual and ...
