It is really amusing how citizens automatically think that you are seeking to eliminate fat, when you point out that you are on a diet regime.

There are a great deal of arguments for persons to be on an eating routine and not all of them have to do with bodyweight reduction.

A couple of the arguments that everyday people can be on a diet are:

To Improve Deal with A SicknessIt is not uncommon for persons to try out and obviously handle a disorder by modifying the way they consume. There is a good deal of specified eating plans formulated about this thought, these types of as the candida diet program, the liver cleaning weight loss plan and the gluten cost-free weight-reduction plan.As Part Of A Healthy LifestyleAn additional good reason customers weight-reduction plan (or limit what they take in) is considering they are eager to live a healthy and well-balanced life-style that comes with observing the meals they try to eat and performing exercises.Out Of Peer StressMany times citizens diet regime just considering that nearly everybody else in their group of buddies is and they basically sense obliged to follow. Spirituality Information - Journey In The Fields Of Forever ( Part 87)

Article by John Harricharan

Pandayji had been so engrossed that I was startled to hear him speak. "I think I've had the same problem. Situations are much better now than in recent years. I was getting to the point of accepting mediocrity and settling for a life of financial hardship. Then I met one of the Holy Ones who explained it much as you did, Marla. From that time on, I understood that it wasn't that anything was wrong with me or my choice of career. It was more that ideas, which were blocked were seeking to express themselves through me. Now I let ideas flow freely and I listen in the quietness of my heart for the 'still, small voice' that always whispers which way to go."

"It is the way to go, Pandayji. The Holy Ones know the secrets of the universe," said Gideon. Then he turned to me and continued,"And we'll talk about the greatest secret as soon as the time's right. But that wasn't the whole story about lack and scarcity, John. Many people don't believe they deserve prosperity. They're full of guilt and fear and down in their hearts, the guilt says,'You don't deserve, you don't deserve. You messed up before. You're not worthy' and the fear says,'Seek after security. Worship at its temple and you'll be taken care of for the rest of your life.' What they fail to realize is that there is no security in material things. Security is a state of mind. Like the man once said,'Many times I've been broke, but never have I been poor.'Being broke is, generally, a temporary affair. Being poor is a state of mind, a condition of being, if you will. It all leads back to a concept of self."

A waiter cleared the table while another, pushing a food trolley piled with an assortment of decadent pastries, inquired about dessert. Pandayji offered some suggestions to which we all agreed. As we enjoyed dessert, Gideon continued his explanation. "Prosperity is an aspect of the spirit. It is having a consciousness from which all goodthings flow. There are certain laws that trigger aspects of prosperity. For example, the habit of gi! ving tha nks a number of times throughout the day for all the blessings in your life removes much of the debris that prevent free flow along the river of life. Did you know that one of the meanings of the word 'affluence' is free flow?"

Spiritual Spring Cleaning: 7 Ways to Heal

Posted: 11 Jun 2012 10:00 AM PDT

Article by Deborah King

Spring: it's a time of renewal for Mother Nature and also for us mere mortals. As the weather gets warmer we're motivated to de-junk basements, scrub windows and dust doorsills.. But don't stop with your physical world. Why not take the singleminded vigor with which you tackle your cluttered closets... and apply it to your soul? We all have issues that block the flow of spiritual energy and hinder our growth and happiness. Now is a good time of year to zero in on the spiritual bad habits you're living with and work to replace them with healthy new ones. Here's how to start:* Identify Issues -- Pinpoint your most distressing spiritual issues: Be honest withyourself. Do you live in a state of constant worry and anxiety? Do you obsessively re-live mistakes or traumas? Are you controlling and aggressive or, on the other end of the spectrum, passive and "victimized?" Be aware of nything that makes you feel depressed or powerless or unbalanced--anything that blocks the free flow of Spirit.* Ask for Help -- Turn to a trusted friend to help you identify your "trouble spots". Tell a trusted friend: "I am trying to become more self-aware so that I can work on my spiritual health. What issues do you notice that I exhibit?" What you hear might be the last thing you expect. "You have a lot of anger toward your husband" or "I think you drink too much" or "You're a workaholic" or "Every other word out of your mouth is negative." This is tough exercise but will help you take a look at "you" from a different perspective.* Find a Mentor -- Seek out a spiritual guide. Do you know someone whose spiritualhealth you admire? An individual who seems centered, balanced, happy, at peace? If so,make a conscious effort to spend time with this person. Notice how she weathers thestorms of life. Imagine yourself in her shoes: how would you react if your mother died, ifyou lost your job, if of your children was contemplating a change in gender. Ask her howshe maintains her unruffled feathers. You'll probably find that the health! iest peo ple, spiritually speaking, have been through the fire and come out on the other side. They probably understand what you're going through and will be happy to share their insights.* Start a Journal. Set aside time every day to explore your issues on paper. A problem with jealousy? Wwrite about it in your journal--how resentful you felt when your friend finally met her soul mate, or when your coworker got a promotion. Write for yourself, not an imaginary reader. Let the journal take you to where it wants you to go.* Meditate - a minimum of 20 minutes of meditation daily will open your innerworld.. Meditation is a wonderful tool which will enable you to connect with your spirit, refresh your soul to simply recharge your batteries. What's more, it's necessary forspiritual health. Silence, stillness and solitude are basic human needs and we don't get them unless we make room for them. Carving out time to meditate--time free of human and electronic interruptions--is basic spiritual hygiene.* Start setting boundaries. Speak your voice. Take back your power.Have you given your power away? Are you allowing some other person or entity--a parent, a spouse, a job, an addiction--to shape your life? Do you take on tasks you would prefer not to do, or regularly squelch your opinions to keep from offending others? Now is the time to start breaking these patterns.* Take in Nature. As often as possible, immerse yourself in nature. Find time to connect with the earth and its healing rhythms. Get up early and sit on your front porch to soak up the sunrise. Hike or camp or walk on the beach. Plant and nurture a small garden, even if it's a pot in a window. Getting in touch with nature helps you get in touch with the needs of your own soul. It reminds us that renewal and rebirth are not only possible, but natural. Effortless. And spring, with its buds and birdsong, is an inspiring time to start your soul work.

A meditation with solfeggio frequency 285. Quantum Cognition is the quality of information processing that encompasses and extends beyond material/sensory based data collection modalities, to include more subtle avenues of awareness, where a direct experience of the nature of the perceiver can be felt and understood in its totality. This direct experience is verified by the perceiver, according to his/her own reality strategy, while also transcending the linear syntax of thought patterns familiar to the intellect. This quality of perception, being uninhibited by linearity, unhinges consciousness from the boundary conditions of the ego thought system - which is rooted in time/space - allowing access to the atemporal reality of our eternal self-hood. Quietening the mind is what we do in meditation. By meditation, we basically mean going from ordinary, simple, mundane consciousness to a higher level, more peaceful state of mind. Can't Sleep? Could Be a Fear of the Dark

For some people with insomnia, the real reason they can't fall asleep may be a fear of the dark, a small new study suggests.

Researchers looked at 93 undergraduate students, who identified themselves as either good sleepers or poor sleepers. Experiments in a sleep lab suggested that 46 percent of the poor sleepers were afraid of the dark, whereas 26 percent of the good sleepers seemed to have this fear.

"People often think it's a juvenile fear, and adults don't usually want to admit that they're even afraid of the dark," said study researcher Colleen Carney, a sleep psychologist at Ryerson University in Toronto. "But some people with insomnia sleep with the light and TV on."

The findings suggest a new way to help people with insomnia, Carney said.

"We can treat this fear," she said. "We can get people accustomed to the dark so they won't have that added anxiety that contributes to their insomnia."

The study was presented today (June 11) at a conference of sleep researchers in Boston.

Who's afraid of the dark?

About 60 million people in the U.S. experience insomnia each year, either frequently or for weeks at a time, according to the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

Insomnia can last several weeks and can be a sign of other health issues, including sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, substance abuse or mental disorders.

To examine whether study participants were afraid of the dark, Carney and colleagues placed them in a laboratory "bedroom," wearing headphones. The researchers played short bursts of white noise into the headphones and watched how often each sleeper blinked. By observing eye blinks, researchers could determine the participants' level of anxiety.

When the bedroom was lighted, the good and poor sleepers responded the same. But with the lights off, poor sleepers were more startled by the sound, blinking more rapidly.

Moreover, the poor sleepers became increasingly afraid of the dark as the night went on, while the good sleepers became more comfortable.

"Everyone will get startled in the dark," Carney said. "That's common, because we're not night creatures." But good sleepers don't startle as much, she said. "They get used to the sound over time and are startled less and less."

So what do you do if you're afraid of the dark and can't sleep? Carney recommended getting treatment for the fear.

Fear and sleeping

Dr. Jack Edinger, a sleep specialist at National Jewish Health hospital in Denver, said he is a little skeptical about the study's findings.

"We can't necessarily leap to the conclusion that treatment for fear of darkness is linked with insomnia," said Edinger, who was not involved in the research. "Poor sleepers could have something more than insomnia."

He noted that study researchers used only a questionnaire to identify good and poor sleepers, rather than performing a clinical examination to more accurately determine whether participants had insomnia.

But he said the study raised interesting questions.

"This study opens up another avenue of scrutiny in the insomnia world," Edinger said. "We haven't been able to cure everyone because we don't have a full understanding of it."

Pass it on: Another reason why you can't fall asleep may be a fear of the dark.

Mind Power: Switching Wishes into Actuality

Posted: 11 Jun 2012 06:00 AM PDT

Article by Smartbzs

I had been recently asked about wishes, and just how much affect the human mind is wearing wants coming accurate.

Understanding the source of wants is within the individual mind, I'd need to the individual mind has everything to do with making wishes become a reality?

Your ideas are distinctively yours. Your own wants are not conceived through anybody else's mind. You may have already been affected by a few exterior concepts, but you are accountable for your wants, whether a person acknowledges the very fact. Your thoughts tend to be formed through experiences and needs which no one else couldn't possibly know.

Would you believe you've enough charge of your mind to make your own wishes reality?

Your answer to that particular exact same query will show you something regarding yourself and your beliefs concerning the power from the mind. It will likewise impact what you can do to rework your desires into actuality.

Will it take belief to show wishes into actuality? Yes. Belief is the energy which changes the silent and invisible towards the seen

What is the solution in order to turning wishes in to actuality? Ideas, combined with the energy associated with belief, tend to be changed into their material counterparts. To put it simply, regardless of the mind may conceive and believe the mind can create.

Converting the desire in to the truth is not a matter of counting on an outside celebration to complete the job. There is no fairy godmother; there is no genie; there is no wizard; there's just a person and the power of your thoughts.

Ellen includes a really active creativity. "I am constantly astonished by the images that the mind can construct", she explained throughout the conversation at a local coffee shop.

"Would you think that your brain can be used to turn wants into actuality?" I asked the woman's.

"Yes, it can," was the woman's reply. Your woman looked over me having a serious phrase. "I've had many wishes come true."

"Many peo! ple woul d state that your fulfilled wishes are simply similarities," I countered.

"Regardless, the wants arrived true."

We required a drink associated with espresso and considered her respond. I possibly could not really prove that exactly what your woman called a fulfilled desire was a result of her thoughts power. It had been enough which she believed in the woman's capability to help to make wants become a reality. She took full obligation on her wishes. Besides, while using coincidence debate is a method for skeptics to write off a trend without having to go to the difficulty of refuting it with details.

"How about your own unrealized wants?" Gurus her. "You haven't already been 100 % successful. Doesn't that mean that you were simply in the right place at the proper time when the other wishes came to move?" Could they be proof which wants are simple fantasies that stay only within the thoughts of the wisher?

"Is what somebody may consider left unanswered supplication evidence that God doesn't can be found?"

We started to consider my very own ability to make my wants come true.

What is the lacking component that makes some wants become a reality and others that don't work out as planned? Here are a few recommendations which Ellen provided.

Do not help to make idle wishes. Regard the power of fulfilled wishes. The frivolous desire is an indication that you don't believe; that you don't expect the actual wish to come true. If all your wants come true, then you have an obligation to be careful what you wish for.End up being specific. Often people type a wish a good their mind however their mind is unable to clothe the actual desire within particulars. "I wish to end up being wealthy," is really a simple generalization.Turn the desire right into a desire by infusing it with emotion.Imagine the wish. Once the facts are realize it is easy to start to determine this.Put your desire into exact words. Put these words in writing as well as talk them every day.Maintain a journa! l to kee p an archive associated with what you perform and just how you do it. Relationship your exercise is really a method of keeping the historical document. It is your proof which wants do come accurate.

Search Inside Yourself, by Chade-Meng Tan

Posted: 11 Jun 2012 06:00 AM PDT

The cover of Search Inside Yourself is a clever riff on Google's famous multicolored logo, and this is appropriate given that the author is a long-term Google employee and that the material is based on a course developed for Google's staff.

Meng, as he is called, is a long-term meditator. Quite how long I'm not sure, but he refers to meditating before he joined Google (which was in 1999). Google's workers are allowed to spend 20% of their time on personal projects, and so Meng and some of his colleagues spent that time developing a personal-development course which had meditation and mindfulness at its core. The course was jokingly called Search Inside Yourself, and the name stuck. This book is the result. SIY (the course) has been taught at Google since 2007, and has been taken by hundreds of people.

Search Inside Yourself is in some ways an odd book, no doubt because it's written by an eccentric person. Meng seems irrepressibly jokey. (His Google business card describes his job title as "Jolly Good Fellow.") The book is peppered with goofy cartoons and constant quips. At times these provoked chuckles, but mostly I found it all a little wearying. Quite literally I found my energy to be drained by Meng's jokes, which I think is to do with the jokes taking my attention away from Meng's more serious points, and thus requiring me to have to re-engage. I've had a similar sense of weariness overcome me at times when talking with people who can't stop joking.

Title: Search Inside Yourself: The Unexpected Path to Achieving Success, Happiness (and World Peace)
Author: Chade-Meng Tan
Publisher: HarperOne
ISBN: 978-0-06-211692-5
Available from: Amazon.co.uk, UK Kindle store, Amazon.com, US Kindle Store, IndieBound.

Which is not to say that the book is not valuable — in many ways it is, and I'll come to that shortly. But at one point I almost put the book down for good. One of Meng's traits is constant name-dropping and a lack of modesty that some might find refreshing but which to me is distasteful. Here is the point at while I nearly abandoned my reading:

[E]ven though I am very shy, I find myself able to project a quiet but unmistakable self-confidence, whether I am meeting world leaders like Barack Obama, speaking to a large audience, or dealing with a traffic police officer. I watched the video of myself speaking at the United Nations, and I was amazed how confident I appeared.

In the very next paragraph Meng mentions "interacting" with Natalie Portman and Bill Clinton. It was several days after reading that particular passage before I could persuade myself to pick up SIY again.

What kind of book is this? It's a guide to achieving success and happiness, according to the subtitle. Inside we learn that we do this by developing greater emotional intelligence. It's therefore not just a meditation book. Meditation here is just one tool to develop emotional intelligence. As the book went on I became increasingly enthusiastic and interested in Meng's approach. The later material is more connected with empathy, lovingkindness, and compassion, which is for me inherently more interesting than the earlier material on mindfulness.

Who is the book aimed at? At times it seems that the target market consists of managers and CEOs, and often it's reminiscent of Stephen Covey's "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People." There's nothing wrong with that, of course — and in fact Covey's book had a big influence on me. But some may find the recurring references to the corporate world a little off-putting if that's not part of their experience.

I present what I didn't like first, because my experience of reading the book was of being tripped up on the way to reading about an interesting program of personal development. And there is a lot of useful material in the book, and Meng has a number of strengths as a guide.

One strength Meng has is that he is an engineer and likes to know what works and what's the science behind what works. And so there's a lot of scientific backing for the meditative methods he outlines. For a meditation geek like me this was a delight. He's also keen on taking systems to pieces and putting the back together again. So he breaks down the skills of mindfulness, empathy, compassionate communication, motivation, etc., and presents them very clearly.

I found myself looking forward to the gray boxes that contained the actual exercises. These were very stimulating and sometimes suggested exercises that I'd never thought of, such as the "meditation circuit training" on page 73. There's an exercise on dealing with memories of "success" and "failure" (pp. 149–151) that's similar to exercises I've taught in dealing with painful memories generally, but never with regard to that particular topic. His lovingkindness meditation (pp. 169–170) is very brief, and very familiar, but laid out in a very clear and concise way.

(As an aside, talking of familiarity, Meng uses a diagram on page 36 of his book that's almost identical to one I devised for my own teaching twenty years ago, and use on this site. He referenced this to researcher Philippe Goldin, who used the diagram in a lecture he gave at Google, and I'm intrigued to know whether Goldin read my book, saw this site, or maybe happened to come up with the same schema independently.)

Another of Meng's strengths is that he is not shackled to a particular ideology. The very common, almost standard, mindfulness-based stress reduction model, for example, that tends to downplay lovingkindness and compassion meditation (although it integrates those qualities into the meditation it teaches). Meng is prepared to take whatever works and to go with it. And so his approach is refreshingly varied and creative, including mindfulness, compassion, tonglen, communication exercises, etc.

One of the other things I admire about Meng is that he is a big thinker. In discussing motivation and "higher purpose" he says,

If you find yourself inspired by your ideal future, I highly recommend talking about it a lot to other people. There are two important benefits. First, the more you talk about it, the more real it becomes to you … The second important benefit is the more you talk to people about your ideal future, the more likely you can find people to help you.

This is something practical I'll certainly take away from Meng's book, and for that teaching alone I felt deep gratitude for having spent time with his writings. I realized how much I keep my vision to myself, as I work on from day to day trying to bring the benefits of meditation to more people. How sad! And how limiting! I'll be spending more time reflecting on this.

The conclusion to SIY is in fact an outline of how Meng plans to make meditation accessible to the world. He wants to get to the point where everybody knows as a matter of course that meditation is good for them (just as they know that exercise is good for them), where everyone who wants to meditate can find a way to learn it, where companies value meditation and encourage their employees to do it, and where, in short, meditation is taken for granted. Or as Meng says, people will get to the point where they think, "Of course you should meditate, duh."

SIY (both the course and the book) is part of Meng's strategy for achieving these goals. He wants to make the SIY course "open source," and to "give it away as one of Google's gifts to the world," although it's not clear what he means by this. The book itself is not free (although Google could certainly afford to give an electronic, and probably a hardback copy, to every English speaker in the world). Even the Google Books preview limits how many pages can be read, which is rather ironic. And given that the book is under traditional copyright, it's not legal for people to copy and possibly even teach verbatim the exercises in it without permission. I wonder if Meng could have published the book under a Creative Commons license rather than traditional copyright, making the material freely available on a non-commercial basis, so encouraging others to spread the word? This may point to a limitation in Meng's model. He wants corporations to save the world, but corporations are usually interested in doing so only if they can make a buck.

Still, I wish Meng well. He's a crazy dreamer, but when has anyone but a crazy dreamer ever pulled off anything big?

Yoga and Health

Article by Yoga Jnana

Yoga is more an education and a way of life which heals itself. This is because it includes values, motives and attitudes, it encompasses routines, diet, good habits and also exercise and relaxation. Yoga looks at the whole organism and in this way is called 'non-specific'. It is important to understand this if you want to make progress in Yoga or derive its real benefits. It is not concerned with the symptoms but with the entire personality.

A symptom is just a manifestation of all these levels. There are many causes of a headache. Aspirin only acts locally. What about the root problem? Discomfort or pain is a great educator. In our modern culture, we try to avoid pain and therefore Yoga says we do not learn. This keeps us in our old habits and yet pain is the body's signal for us to make a change in our lifestyle.

Modern materialism looks for the cause of disease externally in a disease, a virus, a germ or an infection. Yoga believes in external and internal disharmony as a cause of disease.

This is known as Prajna Aparadha - the law of balance of mind as the cause of disease. Over-emotionality brings about more severe symptoms. The more the mind is balanced, the less severe the symptoms. In this way, integration of body and mind will cause less aggravated symptoms and less severe pain.

If we allow our mind to dwell on the injury or illness, this will both exaggerate and prolong the symptoms. Pain and discomfort often has no relation with the severity of the disease. Pain is very, very subjective. People with bad health sometimes adjust and carry on whereas others with mild symptoms complain of great pain. The mind plays so great a part.

Yoga therapy helps with this. The body works under its own logic. In the western culture, we strive to analyse every detail to eradicate disease but the body works under a subtler logic. This we could call the wisdom of the body. It As long as we do not make things worse this is where we can make a start. If you interfere you make d! ifficult ies for yourself.

How does this work? If you try to follow effects through the body, nature will close up and you will learn nothing. The mind cannot follow. It is too ineffective. In the Indian tradition, it is a long term adjustment. Remember that excess in anything can cause illness.

Too much Tamas will cause cold and thickening and also dull reflexes. It is only removed by the influx of Rajas. This, in excess, manifests as heat, agitation, hunger and anxiety. Even too much Sattva leads to nervousness.

The Yoga way is one of awareness and observation over a long period of time.

Spiritual/Psychics: Are They One

Posted: 11 Jun 2012 04:00 AM PDT

Article by Regina Schwartz

Spiritual Growth is based on one's enlightenment and development of understanding within a particular practice based on ones spirituality. There are many forms of spirituality and beliefs. When we develop spiritual growth we find our selves integrating and applying our spirituality on a higher level in our daily lives.

A good analogy to illustrate the idea of spiritual growth is a lit lamp. If we view our body as a lamp the more awareness and consciousness we experience the brighter our light becomes as a lamp. The brightness we emit sheds light so we can see our selves and our surroundings more clearly. We may see things in the light we never saw before or understand them differently. This is spiritual growth. The brightness we give off also may enable us to see into other levels of existence and consciousness. This is also part of spiritual growth.

Some ideas of spiritual growth overlap with religious practice. Other ideas of spiritual growth may be more metaphysical in origin. The primary idea that weaves through all the different forms of spirituality and spiritual growth is the belief of loosing ones personal focus of self and I, and focusing on a larger sense of creation and being in harmony with things larger than ourselves. Some people call spiritual growth tuning into "God" or a Supreme Being or Creator and going by the guidelines that it manifests. When one is in harmony spiritually with that idea that there is something outside of ourselves that can make us enlightened when we seek to understand our relationship to it, we experience spiritual growth.

Spiritual growth does not have to be founded in the association of a particular religious view of what god is. It can be more universal than the confines of a particular religion. You may be of a particular religion that encompasses spiritual growth as well, but you don't have to be necessarily to experience spiritual growth. You can still grow spiritually without practicing a particular religion. All religions claim if! you fol low their teachings you will grow spiritually and receive the benefits of that faith. This is fine but there are people who don't believe in an organized faith or believe in more than one organized faith and still experience spiritual growth.

The main thing to consider for spiritual growth is good character regardless of ones belief. Are you kind, giving, sensitive, understanding and helpful to others in the world. Or, are you selfish, only interested in your self-gains, and narrow minded not allowing for others to live in harmony in the world as well. If you are the second type of person then it may be safe to say you probably won't experience too much spiritual growth.

Spiritual growth is synonymous with other terms like spiritual development, development of higher awareness or development of higher consciousness.

Why Choose Yoga Meditation?

Posted: 11 Jun 2012 03:00 AM PDT

Article by Johnfox

Why Choose Yoga Meditation?

Why Meditation? Why is Yoga and Meditation so important to your personal development?

To understand what to do we must go into the question of meditation.

Why choose "Yoga Meditation" and specifically "What is Meditation"?

Why choose Yoga Meditation? No other form of meditation can provide the same level of benefits that are derived from yoga meditation. Did you know that all popular meditation techniques are based upon yoga meditation (they just have different names)? In addition, yoga and meditation have been scientifically proven to provide significant positive physical and emotional results, such as reduced blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and reduced stress, increased memory and concentration, increased energy and enhanced intuition and creativity. These are only a few of the many scientifically and time proven benefits of yoga and meditation.

What is Meditation? If you live in the material world, and as a consequence your mind lives in the material world, then nothing exists but matter, which is thought, which makes up the content of your consciousness. Meditation means the emptying of the content of consciousness. Only then can the mind be totally quiet. And one's mind must be totally quiet to free up the energy necessary to see clearly without the illusions of the mind. So then how does one empty the content of consciousness and why do we need yoga and meditation to do this?

By consciousness I refer to our awareness as human beings, of our environment and to all of our experiences, including our thoughts and dreams. Our awareness as a separate individual, our awareness of our self.

We look at the mountains, the lake, the sky, and we marvel at their beauty. And we recognize this beauty because we have experienced the beauty of the mountains in the past. This recognition can only exist because we have some relationship to it in the past.

We have had experiences of every kind, and thought always dema! nds more and better experiences, including experiencing other states of mind, or other dimensions. We are fed up with the narrow and limited experiences of life. They are boring and senseless, so we look for the limitless, for the supreme consciousness.

The mind wants to experience this supreme consciousness but to recognize it, it must have already experienced it. So a problem continues to persist, because what one thinks is the limitless or the supreme consciousness is just a further projection of thought.

So we accumulate a lifetime of experiences and thoughts, and these experiences and thoughts become us.

We are the accumulation of a lifetime of experiences and thoughts.

Yoga and Meditation brings about that state where there is no experience or thought, where there is no element of time, of the past or future, where there is no sense of separation between us and everything else. This implies no desires or searching for some state of security, of pleasure, or super-consciousness or whatever, because these all occur in the future, and are therefore of time. Being of time, these thoughts – all thoughts – are limited, prisoners of the function of time. Being limited, thoughts must be discarded to ever know a state beyond time. This is a state beyond the mundane, a state of unbound consciousness.

Yoga and Meditation brings about the state where the mind is empty of time, and will and desire. This implies the ending of all thoughts of the past and future. This implies the ending of the division of the self from everything else. There is no longer me and you, mine and yours, or this or that. All of these divisions and the problems that they cause in our lives are gone forever.

So Why Meditate?

Because through Yoga & Meditation you can find direct relationship and perception with what is, complete awareness of everything that is happening in the present moment. Not awareness clouded by past experiences or your desires for future experiences or by your sense of self wh! ich caus es a deep sense of isolation from everything else. You become empty of all of this. You have then emptied the content of your consciousness. Only then can you hope to achieve any everlasting peace and prosperity. Only then can you be free of pain and suffering and free of the problems that persist in your current life.

To Yoga and Meditation, Prosperity and Abundance, Namaste

life-relationship coaching - principles to improve your relationship –

Spiritual life coaching makes use of the universal ideas of karma and emptiness to improve your relationship

Have you ever been in a relationship that started with a magic and then slowly turned into a boring routine?Have you ever wondered where the spark has gone?Have you ever asked your self how the woman or man I loved change in fort of my eyes into something so much less attractive?

Have you ever been in a relationship that started with a magic and then slowly turned into a boring routine?Have you ever wondered where the spark has gone?Have you ever asked your self how the woman or man I loved change in fort of my eyes into something so much less attractive?

Spiritual life coaching has some good answers and solutions to these problems.

How would a Buddhist understand relationship problems?

In Buddhist philosophy our life events in the present are just a result from past actions. This principle is usually called "the law of karma".

"for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first, and this second event will be pleasant or unpleasant according as its cause was skillful or unskillful.

the usuall relationship dynamic Viewing our usual relationship from karmic stand point is simple.1 We meet our lover – a positive karmic event2 in our early magical period we burn a lot of "good karma" credits.3 since we don't replenish this lost of "good karma" less and less "good" seeds manifesting while negative seeds start to pop up.4 eventually our relationship might turn in to a selfish nightmare where we simple burn "bad karma" (by suffering) and generating more "bad karma" through destructive actions.5 we might leave the relationship just to generate the same pattern with another person. The solution is empty

"Although empty, all things arise in every way without hindrance"…-The 3rd Karmapa Rangjung Dorje-

The basic Buddhist idea of emptiness is simple yet radical. It is al! l coming from you!Anything that happen is just a mind projection resulting from past action.Understanding that all external events are coming from your own karma takes away a lot of blame and judgment. It also gives hope. The Buddhist solution for long term happy relationship is simple yet not easy.Keep on generating positive karma to replenish the karma burned by your pleasure.

This is not a theoretical idea but a very practicable exercise.Imagine spending a day just thinking.. "how can I make my partner happy"Sound like science fiction. Most of us spent the day thinking" how can my partner make me happy" or even worst `"how can I make my partner miserable for not making me happy".

A Jewish polish joke says" what an ugly woman says when looking at the mirror? He (the husband) deserve it"

Understanding that your partner is" empty" will totally transform your relationship.Your partner is basically acting out your positive or negative karma.Generating a lot of "good karma" will unavoidably make your partner treat you well.

This solution works! But need serious intention and dedication.More info about emptiness and relationships can be found by searching "ACI (Asian study institute or diamond mountain Buddhist institute in Google"Practical exercise – spiritual diary 1 get your self a simple notebook and pen.2 make it an habit to write every 3 hours one positive action you have done and one negative action you have done.3 search actively for more and more positive thing to do and write them in the diary.4 try to avoid the negative actions you have written in the future.

ConclusionAs a spiritual life coach I often see how couples destroy their relationship by thinking selfishly on their own gratification.Understanding "karma" and "emptiness" helps to establish new positive patterns.I can only encourage you to give a fair chance to this principles.Done right and with persistence it will transform not only your relationship but your whole life.

Meditation technique for different environments.

Posted: 11 Jun 2012 12:00 AM PDT

Article by Christos Varsamis

There are people who have good sense of focus and concentration. They have the ability to stabilize their mind no matter what kind of environment they are into. However, there are also people who seem to be always disturbed. They can hardly concentrate, thus, affecting their judgment and quality of work. Meditation is a good aid for these types of people. During meditation, mental space is created in order to achieve a certain degree of enlightenment.

The effects of meditation to different people also vary. These could be affected by factors such as the mood, character and individuality. When a person hardly understands himself, his confusion reflects to his actions. That is why contemplation is necessary in order to achieve an enlightened consciousness.

A quiet space conducive for reflection, a mantra to be recited and absolute concentration are the essentials of meditation. While sitting meditation is considered the basic and most efficient form of meditation, there are other ways to modify the process. On the whole, you can only create other forms of meditation when you become habituated with the practice. When your mind had been set for meditation, it will be easy for you to stay tuned-up. Plus, you can integrate the spiritual essence and mental awareness with the physical and mental rhythms of life.

As meditation becomes part of your routine, you will always find time to stop and make a connection with the process of meditation. Naturally, you will seek the blissful state that you can experience only when meditating.

So what should you do when the place you are into is not conducive for meditation? There are ways to establish focus and concentration. You can capture your mind to be in the meditation state when you direct your attention to a spot in the room, or listen attentively to your breathing or focus on a small object. With the help of a relaxing music and tricky colors, you can employ meditation and extend such practice even beyond the meditation period.

!

Activ e people such as athletes need to stay focused in their skill or art while staying grounded. However, their physical ability could be more enhanced if they are in touch with their higher consciousness. A famous female boxer revealed that in her violent and aggressive profession, she never fails to meditate and chant. She constructed her own way of escaping the gym atmosphere in order to find peace within. She listens to the sound of the speed bag as she hits it one way. There is a distinct sound for a one-way blow and the sound varies with the difference in the impact of glove. Then all she had to do is close her eyes and meditate on the sound of the speed bag.

Even a basketball player can employ meditation at the free throw line if he is able to transcend the noise of the crowd and the pressure of the play. In this manner, he can manage stress and anxiety while connecting to his meditation process.

Be creative in modifying your own way of meditation. Break your patterns and make your imagination work.

An Introduction to Meditation Techniques And Dealing With Emotions And Our Busy lifes

Posted: 10 Jun 2012 11:00 PM PDT

Article by Toni Simpson

Meditation has produced such a distinction in my life and I'm so pleased to serve as a meditation guide and instructor for other people. My spiritual journey began when I learned to meditate at the age of 16 and was renewed in 2004 when I was trained as a meditation instructor.

We all have the capacity to expererience deeper peace, higher joy and flow in our lives and meditation is among the most potent tools that we can utilize for higher well-being.When you have tried to meditate and have not experienced success I encourage you to read my chapter on meditation inside the book Sacred Healing: a Guide to Finding it. It'll clarify the a lot of misconceptions about meditation and show that meditation is supposed to be straightforward, not tough.

Anyway, generating use of body movements to release the tension of the physique/mind is an absolute 'must' for numerous people nowadays, as we tend to be bombarded by and absorb so a whole lot details that the body itself desires to release this so that you can be not merely satisfied in stillness but also ready and capable to let its energy participate creatively in some thing we could need to do. Take notice to the occasions where your desire to continue to meditate commence to wane. These are the times once you demand meditation one of the most! In case you uncover that it really is obtaining difficult for you to carry on meditating, chances are, you're acquiring problems focusing on the advantages of meditating. And guess what's a superb remedy for lack of focus? On a continuous basis, you need to strive for excellence in every single region of your life, although nonetheless finding the rest and recreation you may should survive, to genuinely appreciate that life. And by producing time within your busy schedule for yoga and meditation, you might approach every and each life predicament having a clear, relaxed thoughts and rejuvenated psyche. Quite a few men and girls say that so that you can meditate appropriately, you need to empty your tho! ughts of all thought. Despite the fact that this may possibly sound really excellent when the directions are supplied, a great deal of depressed men and females will merely gravitate to unhappy or disturbing thoughts. As opposed to emptying your thoughts of all believed, concentrate on a factor that's either relaxing or upbuilding, enabling it to force all other thoughts out of your thoughts.

You will find so numerous approaches to obtain efficient relaxation and meditation. This could be the method to do yoga or to have a massage or basically by listening to relaxing music whilst you sit by the window. The music is virtually constantly included in all relaxation strategies, as this will be the most widespread way for your sense of imagination to enter the premises. Music might be a component of yoga, and even massage centers. Music as they say will be the language of the soul and will be the medium in which people exceed to greater levels of themselves.

Meditation teaches us to slow down welcoming each and every moment as it arrives, so we can awaken in that present moment. Awakening to this moment, we open our minds and our hearts to our own encounter, this presence naturally radiates to those about us. Our bodies benefit from meditation simply because as our mind relaxes so does our body, releasing and counterbalancing negative effects of our every day tension.

Meditation lightens our encounter, as we open our minds and generate space, the challenges and difficulties that when seemed so threatening no longer appear so, and creative solutions arise naturally. Feeling far more centered and grounded there is certainly a sense of inner stability.

In conclusion, it is time to retire the media-generated stereotypes on meditation. Having a far better understanding of what a meditative state is and how it is possible to attain and enhance your life by way of utilizing easy tools and your surroundings could not just bring you an inner balance, but also extend your life encounter.

The continuity of spirit

Posted: 10 Jun 2012 11:00 PM PDT

Many of the ancient Jataka stories of Buddhism pronounce the same refrain, "at that time and place it was not another, I was 'that person'."  This strongly implies spiritual continuity of the Bodhisat (S., bodhisattva) who transcends birth and death.  These stories serve to illustrate spirit's unchanging continuation through diverse forms of being which are always changing.  In Buddhism, spirit has many names such as Buddha-nature, self, pure Mind, tathatâ, etc..  In all examples, spirit is never a created thing (sankhara).  It is always increate (asankhara).  We are this increate spirit but don't realize it to its fullest extent as Gautama the Buddha did.  Instead, our ignorance dooms us to countless rebirths.

All through the Buddhist canon we are taught by the Buddha that our self or atman is not the psychophysical body which is born and which will eventually die.  Again, this implies spiritual continuity.  From the canon we also learn that "he attains to complete nirvana in the very self" (S. iii. 53-54).  Indeed, how else might nirvana, i.e., liberation, be attained if not in the self?  To be sure, nirvana is not something the psychophysical organism (skandha) can apprehend as if nirvana were a sensory object.  The willed-out, created psychophysical organism has no ability to attain nirvana which is increate.

According to the Buddha the psychophysical organism is made up of three components: A discarnate spirit or gandhabba which is re-linking consciousness (patisandhi-viññâna), the sperm and the ovum.  This re-linking consciousness is directly interfacing with the psychophysical organism partaking in its existence as if it were truly itself.  Fundamentally, this consciousness is spirit which is suffering from a great delusion, believing that it is a psychophysical organism thinking this is mine, I am this, this is my self.  Yet, this spirit has never truly been born into any creature—nor has it ever truly died.  It is like the Bodhisattva of the Jataka stories: a spiritual continuity.

There is a great danger in taking Buddhism as a non-spiritual teaching in which we are taught to accept as final, impermanence, suffering, and insubstantiality.  By doing so we are not really studying Buddhism rather we are studying nihilism.  The Buddha really wants us, as spirit, to see the spirit which we have always been; which is not a psychophysical organism; which above all is increate.  But few can accomplish this.  Almost everyone is caught up in their willed-out, created psychophysical body.  They are like people watching a movie who are so deeply involved with the movie's characters that, for an hour or so, they forgot who they were.

First sermon from the Church of What the Fuck

Posted: 10 Jun 2012 10:00 PM PDT

I'm glad I named this blog Church of the Churchless when I started it up back in 2004. But since I no longer adhere to any religious dogma, I'm free to experiment with my churchlessness.

So here's a mini-sermon from the Church of What the Fuck. The name came to me yesterday as I was thinking some more about why I started to disagree with what Tim Frege was saying in his book, "The Mystery Experience."

(Reasons described in my previous blog post, "Allow cosmic mystery to live, not killing it with religion.")

As I read deeper into Frege's book this morning, I learned that he's big into God is Love. Well, I've got no problem with love. In fact, I love love. But I'm not attracted to the sort of lovey-dovey spiritual God is Love stuff that clearly turns Frege on.

Especially when the source of that love, the ground of that love, is believed to be cosmic being -- which Frege considers to be unconscious of itself until conscious creatures like us humans come along and start loving, along with all the other stuff we experience.

This is conjecture.

Yes, love is real. It's part of what we Homo sapiens do.

However, there's no good reason (nor any good intuition) to support a belief that what lies in the realm of Mystery beyond all human knowing is love. While I'm not out to be a love killjoy, it irks me when people claim that love is the wellspring of existence.

Here's what we know about the wellspring of existence: nothing. Nobody has any idea why there is something rather than nothing, or even if that question makes any sense. So nothing is known about existence pure and simple, which some prefer to call being.

I love to ponder the mystery of existence. That's why I bought Frege's book, "The Mystery of Existence." I loved the title. But I can't accept God is love as the essence of that mystery. I much prefer three other words.

What the fuck? or What the fuck!

(It'd take a whole other sermon to discuss what a difference the ? and ! make to these three holy words; brief answer is that they differ somewhat as to how fuck is used as an intensive; aspiring theologians in the Church of What the Fuck may wish to study here and here.)

What the fuck is my preferred way of relating to cosmic mystery. It's a terrific phrase, pregnant with meaning, as befits its sexual overtones. Here's the Wiktionary definition:

what the fuck!

  1.
    1. (vulgar) Used to express astonishment, shock, incredulity, or disbelief (as a shortened form of expressions such as "What the fuck is going on?", "...are you doing?", or "...is that?").
    2. (vulgar) Used to express nonchalance or the dismissal of any consequences of something one is about to do. I finally said "eh, what the fuck" and quit my job.

Beautiful.

What the fuck? exactly expresses, both emotionally and cognitively, how I feel when I envision the mystery of existence -- how it is that here I am, doing what I'm doing on planet Earth, which is circling one of hundreds of billions of stars in the Milky Way galaxy, which is one of hundreds of billions of galaxies in the observable universe, which came into existence some fourteen billion years ago, yet existence itself has existed for... What the fuck?... nobody knows... probably eternally.

So since nobody has any idea about what existence/being is all about; since nothing is the only honest answer to what is known about the mystery of existence -- I choose to proclaim a truthful What the fuck? before the majesty of our not-knowing, rather than the much less defensible God is love.

Leave mystery mysterious. Don't contaminate cosmic mystery with human conjecture. Honor honest not-knowing. These are the main points of my first Church of What the Fuck sermon.

I'll end with a preview of a follow-up sermon, where I'll discuss the sacred differences between What the fuck! and What the fuck? As noted in the Wiktionary definition above, What the fuck! expresses nonchalance and lack of regard for consequences.

I'm not suggesting this as a wise course of action in many circumstances, such as smoke coming out of an electrical outlet in your home, or a hacking cough that won't go away. No, I'm talking about a sense of cosmic nonchalance.

What the fuck! is a highly recommended attitude for those in recovery from religious dogmatism, rigid commandments, fear of falling into the Devil's hands, and other fundamentalist bullshit. If you feel like doing something, and can't think of any reason not to other than your religious conditioning, embrace...

What the fuck! Just do it.

What Is A Spiritual Relationship?

Posted: 10 Jun 2012 09:00 PM PDT

Article by Regina Schwartz

A Spiritual Relationship is when the two or more parties involved experience harmony, joy, understanding and peace. With a spiritual relationship the persons involved are connected at the heart. Emotionally they sense the deep connection they have together, and it is felt at their core or heart. A spiritual relationship is one that has a spiritual union felt both physically, mentally and at other levels. Both parties feel like their spirits are connected. There are certain people we connect to instantly. These are people to whom we have karmic connections. The same holds true for people we can't stand immediately. We have a karmic connection with them as well. Both of those types of relationships are spiritual because our spirit as or essence either is attracted or repelled beyond our conscious control.

A soul mate is another spiritual relationship that many folk encounter in a lifetime. With a soul mate there is a karmic connection that can span several lifetimes or incarnations. We can have more than one soul mate and they can be incarnation with us in a lifetime or serve as a spirit guide if they are not incarnated in our lifetime. Soul mates have shared many experiences with us and know us inside out. This kind of spiritual relationship can be very deep and stir both positive and negative emotions out of us. Just because someone is a soul mate does not make him or her always peaches and cream with us.

For the most part, a spiritual relationship has a lesson for us to learn. They give us the tools to develop characteristics and qualities that we need as human beings. Spiritual Relationships can also be identified with the patterns we pick in relationships. Issues of abuse, abandonment, love, manipulation, power struggles, intimacy and rejection all fall under the category of karma and spiritual relationships. These situations all teach us a lesson or two. The trick is do we really learn from these types of experiences or ignore the lesson. This is particularly true when one partner! execute s power over the other as a dominating person over a dependant person. The karmic lesson is the struggle that ensues as the dependant person struggles to regain the independence and get their power back.Sometimes we become spiritually stuck and cannot evolve in a relationship. These are not spiritual relationships. These types of relationships hold us there not allowing for growth or other experiences. It is true that being a victim, martyr, persecutor, rescuer or love addict may have a karmic lesson but in this case the spiritual lesson is learning how to let go.

In conclusion a true spiritual relationship is one where both parties feel wholeness and complete together. It is the harmonization of male and female energy, which creates freedom within the relationship to accept each other unconditionally without hidden agendas. In a true spiritual relationship one know how to give or take without being asked and to meet the other parties needs without question.

Yoga would be able to help reducing the risks of falling for elderly people. There are studies showing that a nine-week course could improve balance, strength, flexibility and walking speed. Participants would say that they feel more "centered". It would mean that they are pretty much balanced on their feet.

Aside from improving their health, there was also a change on their outlook in life. This just means that yoga was not only there to improve physical health but also emotional and spiritual being.
