Yoga according to the Masters is realizing that we are united with the divine. The key to reach the highest goal of Yoga, that is self realization is not factual knowledge, but a dedicated practice.

The tradition of Yoga describes a lot of techniques in order to accommodate the beliefs and temperaments of all people. It is important to understand that if we have to practice Yoga seriously, a bit of all these techniques will have to be mixed based on our lifestyles and our personality. In this article we are attempting to convey how a common man while doing his daily activities can practice Yoga.

So, let us begin with the body. The body is a very important vehicle for Yoga and it is very important to maintain this. Therefore, Hatha Yoga describes postures for maintenance of physical health. But the Yoga of body is called the Karma Yoga. Karma Yoga is about using the body in order to realize Yoga. It is about performing our daily duties and work with complete involvement, and not expecting any fruits from it. In other words, if we have to play the role of a mother, according to Karma Yoga, we have to do it with full involvement not expecting any rewards from it. The same holds true when we have to play the role of a spouse, an employee, a friend etc. Hence, Karma Yoga is probably the most easiest practice of Yoga for a common man, and something that can be done 24 hours a day.

Just like we know that we have a body, we also know that we have emotions. The Yoga of emotions is called Bhakti Yoga or the Yoga of devotion. It is expressing devotion to any form which one regards as divinity incarnated. It can be a great saint, it can be a Guru, or it can be any other form of God. The specific form is unimportant, it is the devotion that we personally feel that is important. This method has been used by many religions practiced in the world today. This devotional path is an excellent means of giving direction and release to emotions and feelings, which tend to be pent up or suppressed. Th! rough de votion, the emotions are released and channeled towards making the mind one- pointed. But this is not good path if the devotion is forced upon a person. Only if one is devotionally inclined, he can follow the path of Bhakti Yoga.

The Yoga of our energies is called Kriya Yoga. This energy is nothing but the life force or the vital force which gives us what is called 'Life' .Death is considered to be an absence of this life force. Kriya Yoga is very practical. It is done by practicing Asanas (Physical postures), Pranayama (manipulation of breath), Mudra (gestures), Bandha (physio psychic locks), Mantra (special sound pattern which can produce subtle impact and change ) and psychic passage awareness. Most people who attend Yoga classes are in fact performing Kriya Yoga at various levels.

The Yoga of Intellect is called Jnana Yoga. This is probably the most difficult path to Yoga but for few people, it is natural. This Yoga is about development of intuitive faculty. It requires a strong will power and an overwhelming obsessive desire to find answers. The answers are not to be gained by reading, but through experience and self enquiry. A Jnana Yogi first of all needs to throw out all concepts, dogmas and ideas that are not known to be true through personal experience and then must start enquiry. Although people don't realize it, Jnana Yoga is the method of scientific discovery, artistic creation and musical inspiration as they all defy logic. Therefore, the path of intellect is about pursuing an enquiry through thick and thin until the answer is realized.

These are the four basic forms of Yoga. For different people one form may be easier to practice than the other. We must try to inculcate all of these practices in our daily lives so that we can move ahead in our journey of self discovery through Yoga.

Yoga Teacher Training

Posted: 12 Aug 2012 12:00 PM PDT

Article by Daveopton

Yoga, the sound word, is possibly derived from Sanskrit. "Yuj" which means to "yoke, join or unite" implies "joining or integrating" all aspects of an individual - the mind with the body and those with the soul - to achieve a happy, balanced and useful life. Yoga also facilitates the union of the spirit of an individual with the supreme creator.

Power Yoga is considered to be a contemporary form of Ashtanga Yoga and can be a very intense workout. Yoga teachers can benefit from taking a Power Yoga teacher training course, as aspects of this particular form of Yoga can be added into an already established practice. A comprehensive Yoga teacher training program will cover far more than just Yoga poses. A comprehensive program will definitely cover the philosophical tenets underlying all of the Yoga practices. It will also clarify the physical, emotional and spiritual benefits of a regular Yoga practice.

If you love yoga and want to help keep this ancient tradition alive in modern cultures, you may consider becoming a yoga instructor. There are many yoga teacher training courses available for you to choose from, and many of them are actually free. The idea behind the lacking cost is that yoga is too precious to be placed in a monetary situation.

Before you apply to a teacher training course, there are a few things you need to consider. "Why do I want to take a yoga teacher training course?" This question is important as it may effect where you decide to take your course. You may be looking to improve your personal practice, deepen your general knowledge of yoga, or actually become a teacher. First off, you may want to visit and take a class or two at any studio you are considering working for. Sometimes, you'll find the vibe of the studio or the class does not suit you. Taking the class can save you the frustration of resigning the position after teaching a class or two.

Yet, most Hatha Yoga teacher training courses offer only a small "taste" of the Vedas, Upanishads, or Yoga ! Sutras. In a 200-hour Yoga teacher training course, "The Hatha Yoga Pradipika," by Swami Svatmarama, (which was written in the 15th century), might be skimmed over or not mentioned at all.

Online Yoga teacher training programs offer Yoga students a great depth of information and knowledge about the art of teaching Yoga. A good online program will cover the basic elements of teaching a safe and effective Yoga class, including information about asana sequencing, postural alignment, and modifications.

The Atma Yoga ensures that there is a standard for the quality of yoga instructors and studios in operation. They accomplish this goal by maintaining a national Teachers' Registry that keeps track of all the teachers that meet their standard. Teachers who meet the standard are allowed to use the "RYT" (Registered Yoga Teacher) symbol on their business cards and logos.

Combat Stress and combat pain with an invigorating facial massage

Posted: 12 Aug 2012 11:00 AM PDT

Article by Heidi Gleason

When you stop to consider your options for massage therapy, do you think about the importance of a facial massage? Most people don't... but they should, because when it comes down to it, your face is not unlike the rest of your body, in that massage therapy can provide relaxation and relieve tension. Just as you restore energy to your body, you need to do the same thing to your face, and facial massage accomplishes that by increasing your circulation. When you awaken in the morning, your face probably looks paler and puffier due to the lessened blood flow that occurs as you sleep. Why not return your face to its healthy glow with a nourishing facial massage?

If administered on a regular basis, facial massage therapy tightens and lifts the facial muscles, which helps to reverse the signs of aging. Adding to its popularity is its ability to reduce the wrinkles and fine lines we experience as we age. You face can look dull as a result of the existence of dirt and dead skin cells; facial massage therapy helps to exfoliate the skin and restore its luster.

A facial massage session usually lasts only about 20 minutes, because if administered for longer than that, the muscles in the face can be stretched. This is especially true for people with sensitive skin, which is prone to damage or irritation if too much pressure is used during the facial massage. Because different skin types require different types of lubricants, your massage therapist will examine your skin prior your facial massage to determine what type is best for you. Clients who have very oil skin may not require the use of oils or lubricants at all.

Facial massage therapy can increase circulation and reduce the effects of aging... but what else does it do? It also serves to improve your skin's texture and tone, moisturizes it and reduces any redness that may be present. Occurrences of breakouts and blemishes can also be reduced - or even eliminated - by facial massage therapy. The first step in your facial massage is the ex! foliation process, which is done by cleansing and scrubbing the skin, followed by the application of massage lotion or oil (if needed). Whatever lubricant is used will be absorbed into the skin during the massage session, and your therapist will softly manipulate the various areas of your face for a different result.

So what benefits can you expect and what areas will your therapist target during facial massage therapy?

Reduction of the appearance of horizontal wrinkles and lines: forehead and nose.

Unclogging of pores and reduction of blemishes: nostrils.Prevention of wrinkles and sagging muscles: mouth and cheeks.Reduction the appearance of bags under your eyes: the area around the eyes.

Prevention of sagging skin and increased muscle tone: chin and neckMassaging to stimulate other body parts: ears.

Let's face it... these days are filled with stress, tension and fatigue for many of us. And the effect of that pressure doesn't only affect our bodies, but our faces as well. Why not treat your face to the benefits of a relaxing, rejuvenating facial massage?

Melt away your stressful day but also promote healing way of a soothing massage

Posted: 12 Aug 2012 10:00 AM PDT

Article by Fred Haines

An increasing number of people are turning to massage therapy to help them cope with the stress and pressures of everyday life. Once described as "rubbing", massage therapy involves the application of a variety of compression techniques applied to one's muscles and soft tissues, resulting in improved state of overall health and well-being.

The art of massage therapy and the benefits it provides is nothing new; researchers have been touting its healing and relaxing properties for thousands of years. The friction that massage therapy creates through trained "rubbing" has been found to improve circulation and reduce pain in one's joints. Different techniques are used to target different parts of the body to improve the functions of the various systems in our bodies, including our nervous circulatory systems.

An ongoing program of massage therapy can provide many mental and physical improvements, such as:

A reduction in the effects of chronic pain;Enhanced concentration as a result of mental relaxation;Improved skin tone and elasticity;

A physical relaxing of the body which allows you to sleep better;Lower blood pressure and heart rate sometimes brought on by anxiety;Elimination of headaches resulting from too much stress.

With literally hundreds of different variations of massage therapy available, many therapists are using multiple techniques to treat the same client. The use of various forms of stroking, kneading, vibration, friction and pressure, along with the use of lotion and oil, has also been proven to boost one's metabolism significantly.

There are few treatments available today that can effectively manage the tension and stress you may be experiencing, but massage therapy is proven to be one of them. By including it in your regular health regimen, you will be able to enjoy the maximum benefits it offers.

After someone suffers injury or surgery, massage therapy has been known to provide a faster and more comfortable rehabilitation process. It is a! lso bein g used in conjunction with programs designed to help clients stop smoking and in the treatment of symptoms associated with such conditions as infertility, depression and anxiety.

The known side effects of massage therapy are few. Other than some temporary pain or discomfort during the procedure, most who receive a massage - at the hands of a trained therapist - report benefits that far outnumber any fleeting side effect.

Wrangling about the self

Posted: 12 Aug 2012 07:00 AM PDT

The wrangling that goes on over the subject of "not [the] self" or in Pali, anattรข might be much less divisive if certain questions were asked beforehand.  First,  to what in particular is anรขttรข addressed?  Secondly, what is believed to be the self?  And is anattรข really a categorical denial of attรข or รขtman?

To answer the first question, anattรข pertains to the Five Aggregates that make up the psychophysical organism:  the human being, in other words.  The aggregates are material shape, feeling, perception, habitual formations, and sensory consciousness.  These are said by the Buddha to not be the self or anattรข.  This negative answer pertains to those who believe the self is somehow connected with the Five Aggregates.  They believe the self to be something psychophysical which answers the second question.  For example, the self has a material nature, till we come to sensory consciousness in which it is believed the self has the nature of consciousness.

But now we need to address the third question.  Anattรข is not the categorical denial of self.  The Pali term, natthatta is the categorical denial of self.  When the wanderer Vacchagotta, in the Ananda Sutta (S. iv. 400), asks the Buddha whether the self exists (atthattรข) or does the self not exist (natthattรข), the reader will carefully note that the Pali term natthatta is used, not anattรขNatthatta is a categorical denial of self, anattรข is used adjectivally.  It says, essentially, that each aggregate or khandha is not to be confused with the self.

From this we need to ask a fourth question.  How did the Buddha respond to those who categorically denied the self such as the materialists?  Before we tackle the question, the materialist appears to believe that sensory perception is the only valid means of knowledge in which case there is no self since it cannot be perceived by the senses.  An important observation, the materialist position seems to be very close to the Theravada position which firmly believes that the Buddha did not teach a transcendental self (this is, however, changing).  On the same score, it should not be ignored that the Buddha was accused of being a materialist which, of course, he denied.

As much as I have tried, I can find no discourses in which the Buddha is debating with a materialists where the topic is specifically the reality of the self or attรข. The same goes with someone who claims to have attained a transcendent self.  A more careful reading of the Pali canon, however, finds many compounds which include a positive self.  For example:  "He beholds the self purified (visuddhamattรขnam) of all these evil unskilled states, he beholds the self freed (vimuttamattรขnam)" (M. i. 283).

Not surprisingly, given the Buddha's denial that he was a materialist, Buddhism—Buddhism in the West—has attracted materialists who adhere to the same outworn stance as India's materialists:  that what I cannot perceive does not exist.  They deny this when confronted.  Nevertheless, their position is based on sensory perception (they maintain this is 'scientific').  On this basis, they need to come clean and think about dropping materialism or leaving Buddhism and stop being the proverbial dog in the manger.

Yoga As A Life Philosophy

Posted: 12 Aug 2012 04:00 AM PDT

Article by Charles Knapp

Yoga is different things to different people, so what it means to you'll depend greatly on how you had been introduced to it and how you enjoyed your initial experiences with it. For some people Yoga is merely a method of exercising that assures they have a healthy supple body. For other individuals Yoga goes beyond a method of exercise and is a spiritual experience that permits them to find the balance and centring their lives need. This type of Yoga comes closer to a life philosophy than every other.

Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga is frequently placed in this final type when assessing it is place as a Yoga discipline. It descends from a document known as Korunta Yoga which offers with the 8 spiritual movements which are explained Patanjali in Sutra Yoga. These days most Yoga disciplines are directly descended from the descriptions of Yoga exercises in these documents, and so most forms of Yoga are variations of Ashtanga Vinyasi.

Getting a total understanding of Ashtanga Yoga is essential as it is proponents address it as more that a form of physical exercise. Whilst it is base is in physical movement it is recommended that it's power actually comes from the strength of spirit that is developed from normal and disciplined practice of the 8 stages of Yoga. Through the 8 stages of Yoga the body and mind become pure, and so they're seen as a purifying discipline.

Moreover the discipline of Ashtanga Vinyasa deals with a profound and deep way of relating to others. The closest word to describe this aspect of the Yoga discipline is manners, but it really does go beyond that. Yoga is a discipline of balance, and the physical balance required to complete many of the workouts ought to be reflected by an internal balance or harmony of the soul. It is said that a hyperactive person canot be successful with Yoga and this is true on several levels. Firstly they lack the discipline to sit calmly through the exercises, but they also lack the mental calm to focus wholly and totally on a single task! . Yoga d emands deep focusing on the simple act of breathing and feeling the breath bring life to different areas of your body.

The power of Yoga is found in it's combination of the physical strength and flexibility needed to complete movements and also the mental discipline that is required to maintain them. Yoga isn't just a form of exercise but most frequently it is thought of as a form of meditation. Meditating successfully with Yoga requires a pureness of thought and singularity of focus that is not found in most modern exercise programs. It seeks to bring the body back into balance and focus on maintaining that balance.

This aspect of Yoga is frequently misunderstood, but balance plays an enormous role in Eastern Medicine and also the purpose of Yoga and similar meditative techniques is often no more than to achieve and maintain the level of balance that keeps our bodies healthy. Yoga teachers will often talk about one-ness and inner harmony, and this can be mis-interpreted by individuals who lack a holistic understanding of what Yoga seeks to achieve. Simple the harmony that is accomplished via Meditation and Yoga is a self-contentment or acceptance of oneself. This shows that the first step to becoming completely happy and healthy is to be content with your self as well as your life.

Student Loan Consolidation Companies - The Medium For Stress Free Study

Posted: 12 Aug 2012 03:00 AM PDT

Article by Asheesh B Mani

Choosing the right company to consolidate your loans is of utter importance today. Many Student loan consolidation companies lure innocent students with high profile ads disclosing very little and then fleece the students with high interest rates on the pretext of offering gifts and incentives. Once you become their customer, they change their tactics and add different kinds of fees and charges. Moreover, they are not ready to relent if you fall on bad times. Do not fall a prey to such student loan consolidation companies; always look for the companies that respect your needs.

Make Your Payments Diligently

Most individuals today carry multiple credit cards and payments are made by plastic money i.e. cards. In other words, these payments are made by the card issuing company on your behalf to the selling agency or vendor. This also means that you have taken a loan of the same amount from the card company. Now, you have to pay it back. If you do not, your credit card company notifies the credit rating authority that in turn reduces your credit. Therefore, if you miss your repayments on loan, you get a reduction in your credit ratings. This means you will have lesser credit in future. Therefore, you should always be diligent in your payments. To avoid such occurrence you can take the help of student loan consolidation companies.

Explanation Of Consolidation

Student loan consolidation companies are available on the net and in the market. Through these companies, students can get respite from the various loan installments and high rates of interest that they are currently paying on their sundry loans, taken earlier, to meet the rising cost of education today. Student debt consolidation means that you pick a lender, give him the task of dealing with all your previous lenders and pay this new lender only one installment per month until the loans finish. Make sure you pick a company carefully, someone with whom you are willing to interact for the next 15 to 20 years. Usually the ter! m of loa n is extended, the rate of interest is reduced and students are given other options of deferred payments and payment holidays. This way it becomes easier for the students to pay their debts and continue with their studies more comfortably.

Some Considerations While Choosing A Lender

First, check if the company is authorized for the work of consolidation by the Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agency. Avoid companies who charge upfront charges or fees. Programming the subconscious mind

Article by M.farouk radwan

Programming the subconscious mindProgramming the subconscious mind is not a hard task, you just need to make the conscious mind go to sleep or at least inactive, through hypnosis for example, or any other method. It's then that you can send your suggestions directly to the subconscious mind and get it programmed.

What's good about this is that there is another programming method that can be done, even if the conscious mind is fully awake; a trusted source.

Programming the subconscious mind via a trusted sourceIs there someone in your life whom you'd trust his experience and knowledge of life? Is there someone whom you know and believe to know more than you do? That person doesn't necessarily need to know more than you do in all fields of life; one field is more than enough.

You must know someone of the sort!! However, what you may not know is that most of what that person says goes directly to your subconscious with hardly any kind of filtration. It's like you're hypnotized; his words and ideas program your subconscious and affect your life greatly.

Religion and the subconscious-mind programming:Of course if you're a believer, then there is no one that you can possibly trust more than God. Based on that, when you read your religion's Holy Book, it should directly seep into your subconscious, program it and lead you to follow what you've read.

But what if you don't feel that those ideas really got to your subconscious, despite having understood them very well? Unfortunately, that probably means that you don't trust the source a 100%; as you've seen from the examples above, once the conscious mind trusts the source, it will hardly do any filtering to what it is hearing or seeing. On the other hand, if it doesn't trust it, it will start questioning the information and filter it.

If that is the case, then make sure that you work to strengthen your faith; read as much as you can. If you're having some doubts about your religion, then search more;! don't let someone fool you and seek your answers on your own.

Final words on the subconscious-mind programmingOnce you program your subconscious mind you can insert any belief you want, override any belief that you don't want, change your unwanted behavior and even break bad habits; just remember that the first thing you've got to do is get the conscious mind out of your way so you can directly program the subconscious.

Arguments for God aren't convincing. So is "I feel Him."

Posted: 11 Aug 2012 10:00 PM PDT

Resurrected! Glory be!

That's how my churchless self reacted when I opened a drawer full of forgotten books and re-discovered "Irreligion" by John Allen Paulos. I'd read this short book before, as evidenced by my highlighting, but decided to read it again after flipping through a few pages and thinking Oh, my God! So true!

Paulos, a mathematics professor, demolishes the most common arguments for God. His logic is impeccable, so far as I can tell. And his writing is entertaining, often simultaneously amusing and thought-provoking.

For example:

To the question "What will any of my concerns matter in one thousand years" we might, of course, react with stoic resignation. Instead, however, we might turn the situation around. Maybe nothing we do now will matter in a thousand years, but if so, then it also would seem that nothing that will matter in a thousand years makes a difference now, either. In particular, it doesn't make a difference now that in a thousand years, what we do now won't matter.

Some of the classic arguments for the existence of God are so flimsy, it doesn't take much to tear them apart.

The Argument from First Cause, the first taken up in the book, runs in this fashion according to Paulos.

1. Everything has a cause, or perhaps many causes.
2. Nothing is its own cause.
3. Causal chains can't go on forever.
4. So there has to be a first cause.
5. That first cause is God, who therefore exists.

But Paulos says that assumption 1 is better put as "Either everything has a cause or there's something that doesn't."

Such as existence. Perhaps physical existence simply is. Always has been, always will be. Just like God supposedly is. So why can't physical existence be the first cause?

A related objection to the argument is that the uncaused first cause needn't have any traditional God-like qualities. It's simply first, and as we know from other realms, being first doesn't mean being best. No one brags about still using the first personal computers to come on the market. Even if the first cause existed, it might simply be a brute fact -- or even worse, an actual brute.

And this is just one of the arguments for God persuasively rendered unpersuasive by Paulos. Just about any argument someone could come up with for why they believe in God is so full of leaky logic, that belief is rendered unbelievable.

Including the "I just know..." or "I just feel..." argument. I get this all the time in blog comments. Brian, spirituality isn't a matter of logic, thinking, analyzing. It's all about direct experience.

OK, so what?

I've got direct experience of my life. You've got direct experience of your life. We each could claim to have known or felt something supernatural as part of our experiencing. Yet why should someone else accept that claim as being anything other than a subjective personal experience?

Paulos acknowledges the seeming validity of subjectivity arguments.

One response which can't be summarily dismissed is simply the example of their belief and its effect on their lives. This effect can be impressive, but certainly doesn't compel assent. Still, one shouldn't reject the insights and feelings of those with perfect pitch because one is tone-deaf. Or, to vary the analogy, it wouldn't be wise for the blind to reject the counsel of sighted people.

But he then continues to a counter-analogy.

The undermining disanalogy in this response is that a sighted person's observations can be corroborated by the blind. A sighted person's directions, for example, to take eleven steps and then to turn left for eight more steps to reach the door of a building can be checked by a blind person. How can an agnostic or atheist learn anything from someone who simply claims to know there is a God?

Unlike the situation with sighted people, whose visions and directions are more or less the same, the "knowledge" that different religious people and groups claim to possess is quite contradictory. Blind people might wonder about the worth of being sighted were different sighted people to give inconsistent directions to get to the door.

Instead of the directions just mentioned, say a different sighted person directed someone to take four steps, turn left for seventeen more steps and right for six more steps to get to the same door.

This is exactly the case with religions, spiritual systems, mystic practices, and meditation approaches. They're all over the map when it comes to finding God, nirvana, satori, Brahman, Tao, Allah, enlightenment, or whatever other goal is espoused.

(Some even counsel against having any goal, or taking any steps, offering another alternative to the ultimate reality-seeker.)

So feel free to have your feelings about God.

Just don't expect me, or anyone else, to regard those feelings as being anything other than subjectively personal absent demonstrable evidence that you've experienced some sort of objective shared reality.

Ashtanga Yoga is the type of yoga which was developed and founded by K. Pattabhi Jois. This type of yoga is known as the Eight Limb Yoga which has revolved in Pattanjali's enormous idea. It presented that the path of purification is made up of the eight spiritual practices. The first four limbs that represent Ashtanga Yoga are - yama, niyama, Asana and the Pranayama. These are considered cleansing practices which are externally correctable. The other set of limbs which are the - pratyahara, dhyana, dharana are the internal practies. These limbs can only be corrected by the proper application of the Ashtanga Yoga method. This type of yoga method is quite dangerous to the mind.K. Pattabhi Jois said that practicing these Eight Limbs and also its sub-limbs of the external practices which include the niyama and yama is not possible. In doing so, the body should be strong so that it can perform the practices well enough. If the body is weak, and the sense organs are not functioning well, practicing will never be useful at all. This is a philosophy that K. Pattabhi Jois has applied, this is important to understand so that in doing the practice, you are sure that the body will improve and the keep it stronger and healthier.Vinsaya and Tristhana is practiced in Ashtanga Yoga. The Vinsaya is a style that makes Ashtanga and its principles distinct from the others. Vinsaya means the movement and breathing which is used for the internal cleansing process. Each movement done is accompanied by only one breath. Sweat is the most important product of Vinsaya. When you produce sweat, it only means that you are successfully applying the practice. When you perform the Asanas, the body creates heat which causes your blood to boil and excrete the toxins outside of your body. The toxins are found in your sweat. So the more sweat you create, the more toxins are released. The poses are used to fully develop the strength and health of the body. The series of practices make this possible. There are three postures used in Ashtaga Yoga. The three are classified on different levels. The first is the Primary Series which aims on aligning the body and also detoxifying it.The second is the Intermediate Series opening and cleaning the energy channels which comes to the process of purifying the Nervous System. The last series would be the Advanced Series from A to D. in this series, the grace and strength is measured. The Tristhana is another yoga principle which represents the union of the three places of action and attention. First is the posture, second is the breathing technique ad last is the Dristhi of t! he Lookin! g Place. All these three should work altogether to perform a function.Breathing techniques are simultaneous and synchronized. It is important to make a single breath for one movement. Ujjayi Breathing is the Yoga Breathing Technique used in the application of Ashtanga Yoga. Applying this technique must be prolonged after every practice. What you need to master is holding your pose longer at the same time hold your breath. This is an amazing breathing exercise that will increase your internal fire and will strengthen the Nervous System. Both Ashtanga and Tristhana deal with the series of Dristhi. The Dristhi is described as the point on which you gain your focus or attention while doing the Asana. This enables your mind to be purified and stabilized clearly.Setting the mind clear and cleansing it can only be done in the Eight-Limb Yoga or Ashtanga Yoga.

Article by Meena Jha

Credit card debts can add up to the already stressful life we are living. If the debts have gone out of our means then you must start looking for debt relief methods to get you out of this or very soon you might need a doctor. Popular debt relief methods which have proven their worth through effective debt relief are credit counselling, debt consolidation and debt settlement.Once a debtor signs up with credit counselling he is given assistance at three different levels. The counsellors help to plan out a payment plan for the client which will fall within the means of the client. They negotiate with the creditors to agree with the payment plan so that the debtor can come out of debt without filing for bankruptcy. The next level of assistance is through negotiating a lower interest rate and waiver of penalty charges on the account. The third level of assistance is by making their clients account current. If the debtor has a lot of credit card debts or other high interest rate debts then he can consolidate all these loans into one loan with the lowest interest rate. This benefits the customers in two ways. First, since the interest rates have become low the monthly payments would come down. Second, the customer does not have to follow up different loan payments but only one loan. Debt settlement is a useful debt relief method which helps its debtors to come out of loan by eliminating a major chunk of the loan. A debtor having unsecured debts in the range of ten thousand dollars or more can take part in this relief program. A successful settlement negotiation can get a debt reduction of as much as 50% of the total balance. In current scenario debt relief option is one of the best option available for the citizens to come out of debt.

Your Beautiful Mind

Posted: 11 Aug 2012 05:00 PM PDT

Article by Steven S. Sadleir

What if you could think whatever you want whenever you want? What if you felt joy, love and peace all the time, or even just most of the time? Can you think of some old feeling that you would rather not be carrying around, or a behavior that just doesn't serve you anymore and you would like to let it go? Now is the time. Your mind thinks as it was trained to. Over the years you have downloaded from your senses various thoughts, feelings, opinions and beliefs that rule over your life. Some of them may be quite helpful to you while others may be keeping you from realizing your full potential, or just being happy and prosperous.

You can consciously decide how you want your brain to work, and if there is something in your mind you no longer want to think you can now change it. Your own mind may not believe this, and may even fear the idea, but if you would like to change what goes on in your mind and body the first step is in realizing that you can...absolutely. The second step in this process is in realizing what your thoughts and feelings are and how they are affecting your life. What thoughts serve you and which ones don't? The next step is to consciously decide in what ways you want to think and which ways you don't. The clearer your mind is as to what you want it to think, the easier it is for your mind to think it.

Once you have gained clarity as to what you want your mind to think it is simply a matter of programming your mind to think that way. This is where I can help you. Just like learning a language, as you repeat ideas and feelings they become ingrained into the neuro-physiology of your brain and become adopted into your own personality and behavior. Thought-forms can be created in your mind and firmly established so your mind becomes the perfect servant to your own consciousness. Where there was negative you create positive, where there is fear you create courage and strength, where there is discord you create harmony.

Look how enslaved most people are to their mental a! nd emoti onal conditioning. There is absolutely no reason to stay in a contracted mental or emotional state, you can start shifting and reprogramming your mind once you decide to. This choice is the power that makes it happen. Your spirit is guiding you to make those choices, just as it guided you to be reading these words. I will be conducting a series of three one hour teleconferences this month called The Enlightened Mind Series (www.selfawareness.com/YourEnlightenedMindCDSet.html). During these teleconferences I will guide you into deep states to access your subconscious and provide you a series of templates for your mind to consider and adopt if you choose. Emotionally, physically and mentally let us create those thoughts and feelings that bring greater prosperity, happiness and peace into your life and to those in your life. Why settle for anything else?

Some low resistance sparring experimenting with "Aiki-boxing" at Integral Martial Arts. Mixed Martial Aikido is an evolutionary exploration building alive sparring into Aikido training. Stay tuned for more... Our learning here is that some techniques will work with a common street assailant, while many of these same techniques become useless against an opponent trained in kickboxing, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (of course). Standing Kimura seems to work, standing Rokkyo/Nikkyo less so (although easier with Gi collar grips), and standing Americana much less so again.
